Capture Joy and Butterfly Kisses

Welcome back! Hello, on this sunny warm beautiful day, I'm so glad you've joined me. Today I'm sharing a quick post featuring the Simon Says Stamp Card Kit for the month, called Capture Joy.

Although his kit has sold out, many elements are still available singly for sale.  I hope that you'll enjoy a glimpse of four cards that I've made with these fun papers and stamps.

Some of you know that when I moved recently I did a major downsize and gave away most of my craft supplies. I did have a room full! It seems I've missed all the reams of patterned papers that I had the most! And to be honest, I'm being careful with bringing in the new stuff, lol! The card kit gives me a kick and I am loving this one.

Butterflies and polka dots, what's NOT to love? Wishing you a fabulous day!

Wildflower Birthday

Hello friends, it's a new week, welcome to my blog today! One of my favorite things about this hobby of card making that we love, is that you can create what you feel in the mood for and change out colors or techniques according to your whim.

Lately I've been doing simple cards with clean watercolored images, but you know what? I've been missing playing with paper. So I got my fill of flowers and pretty papers with this card.

Recently I  was smitten with a couple floral suites from Stampin' Up! This card was created with papers from the Wildflower Birthday Collection. Such pretty pastel peach and blues. I began by embossing white card stock with the Baroque folder from Anna Griffin, and used a die to scallop the bottom edge. The striped tag is part of the DSP, I cut it out and trimmed out the polka dotted blue strip to add vertically.

The flowers and leaves on the tag are part of the images on the papers that can be punched out. The other panel was cut with a stitched die cut from the set. The lovely loose weave trim is so fun to work with and dressed things up. A sentiment from The Greetery and a few metallic gold pearls were  included for the final touch. That's it for me today, thanks for keeping on til the end of this post. Hope you have a great day!

I'll be linking up with NBUS - Never Been Used Stuff as the papers and die are new; and the lovely ladies at A Cut Above.

Showered in Love

Hello on a Thursday evening! I couldn't resist playing in Claire's theme challenge of Rainy Days at The Paper Players and the time to join is almost up!

The theme encouraged me to pull out the Rain Boot Bouquet Die from Spellbinders that  I've had in my new items stash and make a card.

I also have wanted to feature the Concord and 9th Garden Party Paper Pack and was able to combine a few patterns I just love and colors for my boots. I foresee lots of uses for theses dies in many color combos for encouragement cards. The sentiment is from Penny Black. Playing at The Paper Players.

I'm so glad to have popped in with a just for fun project today. It makes me even happier that you've dropped in too. Have a great weekend!

You Are Amazing

Hey there! I'm here for a quick card share and I'm glad you've stopped by!

I pulled out some patterned paper and made a fun fold card using WPlus9 Spring Floral dies. The sentiment is from Honey Bee.

Thanks for having a look!

I'm adding this to NBUS as the dies are new, and the Tic Tac Toe Challenge.

It fits the rows Fun Fold, Die Cut, Spring and across Spring, Emboss, Patterned Paper.

The Paper Players #589 Hello Bluebird Garden Party!

Hello friends!  Maybe you are old enough to remember circling a flagpole for May Day celebrations on May 1? Well, I'm not quite that old - but I think outside parties and flowers are a lovely remembrance. I still can't believe it is MAY already! It's also Sunday so that means time for a new Paper Players challenge! Our theme provided by dear Jaydee is - birds and/or bees, take your pick! Or use both as I did.

I'm again featuring a Slim line card that measures 3-1/2" x 8-1/2". I had so much fun creating this garden party celebration! The images were colored with Copics with accents from a white gel pen added then die cut. The backgrounds were ink blended with DOX inks.

Here's a close up so you can catch a look at those bees! I will list supples below for those who like details.

Be sure to check the lovely inspiration provided by the Design Team and join us, won't you?

Stay tuned for my second post today to follow soon. Have a great time with your weekend crafting!

Somebunny Slimline card

Hi, it's Thursday afternoon and I'm here with a just for fun post! Meaning a project not made for a DT,  or even a card challenge, but just because! I've collected quite a lot of adorable critter stamps for making scenes, and I've become obsessed with the extra space a slimline card allows. And the cuteness!

Hello Bluebird has super fun animal stamps and the sets are easily combined for a scene as they are the same scale. I colored the images from the Park Play stamps with Copic markers and fussy cut them out.

They are arranged on the backgrounds and film layer from the Mama Elephant Slim Film City dies. I've found these to be a great value since there are quite a few options and I have already gotten good use out of them. I've had so much delight in trying this new style and card size. If you feel stuck in a creative rut, I'm recommending you try something new!

I hope your day is shaping up! I'm sending you sunny thoughts and hugs today! I'll be back with two posts on Sunday.

April Showers for The Paper Players

 Hello and Happy Easter!

It's my last chance to use this beautiful image from Spring Day (Penny Black). While not specifically an Easter card, it is definitely seasonal. It was the first thing I thought of when I saw The Paper Players Challenge #587 beginning today called April Showers.

It is hosted by Claire and is a Clean and Simple Challenge. I kept my layers and embellishments minimal and did just a bit of color blocking for interest.

The image takes center stage, stamped in Warm Wool ink (WPlus9). It's a fav of mine when I want a soft outline and it can withstand water for coloring. I used Copics today, and added - you guessed it - a butterfly with a pearl.

Hope makes our lives a little brighter is my favorite sentiment from the faith.hope.love transparent stamps also by Penny Black. Thanks so very much for visiting today. I hope to see your take on the challenge in the gallery!

I am adding this to the challenge at Fusion to use tulips, as featured in the photo. I also want to add this to the Penny Black Saturday challenge, Anything Goes or Easter.

More Spring Flowers for Color Hues #39

Good morning, I'm hoping your day has started off well. I'm sharing a card today for our new challenge at Color Hues to use purple and green. That screams spring to me and you know what else - florals.

My images (Spring Florals stamps/dies from SSS) were embossed in white onto Bristol Smooth card stock that had been inked and blended with Distress Oxides and sponge daubers. My gingham panel and dies from Penny Black (Soaring) finished off this bright card. I love the 'brighten your day' sentiment as it could be just thinking of you or for a get well card.

The design team has a gallery of amazing inspiration for you! We hope you will join us with your crafty goodness.

Lovely in Pink for Color Hues #38

Hello! I am happy to know that APRIL is here and I'm ready to share our Challenge #38 at Color hues! Sheri is our hostess this month, and she's chosen Pink and Green for our springtime hues.

Of course, I thought florals would be perfect and the new to me stamps called Loveliness were just waiting and ready to go!

I used watercolor paper and stamped the images with Versafine black ink then heat embossed with clear powder. I like embossing when I watercolor and used the Zig markers because of the the vibrant  shades, especially the pinks!

I added color with the markers and used a damp brush to add shading and movement.

All my supplies are from Penny Black today, I will list them below. Once I got the dies I've been wanting to put butterflies with pearls on every card!

My new stamps mean I join in the April challenge at NBUS!

What will inspire your creation with pink and green? Can't wait to see it in our gallery!

Pinkfresh Florals for The Paper Players #584

Hello crafty friends, welcome to a new week! And a new challenge at The Paper Players where LeAnne has a sketch for us. I love sketches and this one is fun.

I combined plaid paper (MFT) and floral images stamped using Pinkfresh Studio (Lovely Blossoms and Just a Hello Floral.)

I always eyeball blocked sketches instead of intricate measuring, ahem. That means I had to make this card twice to get it right, lol. Now that I've got it, I'd like to make another one soon.

I hope you will join us and create what you love using our sketch! Hope you have a wonderful day!

Clean and Simple Blooms for Paper Players #583

How can it be that challenge #583 for The Paper Players is here? This wonderful group has been inspiring us week after week for a very long time! I am having so much fun as one of their Guest Designers this year.

Our challenge comes from Laurie this week, to make a Clean and Simple design with the theme of Blooms. Now you know, I have TONS of floral images, right?

I chose Spring Flowers and More Spring Flowers (SSS) from my stash. So enjoying playing with this older set again, I actually made up three cards and you will surely see them in future posts . I just love the stitching on these images.

I embossed them in white ink onto white card stock. After blending Distress inks to supply color in layers I snipped and die cut the images. Keeping the card simple I used inlaid stitching rectangle dies for the background (Lawnfawn). I think pearls make the perfect simple embellishments.

Can't wait to see the team's inspiration and your wonderful projects in our gallery. Have a fabulous day, friends.

Hello SPRING!

Hi everyone, this time I made a card just because. Because I wanted to. Because I had NBUS (never before used Shtuff!in this case, the stamps). Because spring is almost here and it's a lovely bright and sunny day! Because one of my favorite things to do is color. Well, I could go on and on, but I think you'd like to see the card instead.

Using the Bunnies & Robin stamps (Colorado Craft Company) I die cut an oval of watercolor paper, stamped the image in soft brown and used my watercolors from Altenew to paint this sweet scene. The darling critters illustrated by Anita Jeram really captured my heart.

As I went to post this, I saw that it's a perfect fit for two challenges.

The Tic-Tac-Toe challenge asks for birds, trees, and green; Or I also included the diagonal row of bird, coloring and flowers.
I will also add one more to the NBUS challenge gallery for this month.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog. I enjoy your visits and kind words more than I can say! Have a fabulous weekend.

Spring is in the Air The Paper Players #581

Hello. and welcome to another great theme challenge at The Paper Players! Yes, spring is in the air here, and flowers are blooming everywhere! This week the daffodils popped out, the forsythia and cherry trees are in full bloom. Next to come will be the azaleas and dogwoods that are so plentiful in my state.

I'm inspired by the bluebirds that we see in our yard, they will soon be nesting!

My card features that very spring scene.

I'm using stamps from Honeybee called Love is in the Air.  The images were colored with Copics and fussy cut. I often don't mind fussy cutting, this time I outlined each image with black marker to hide any white paper bits peeking out.

The bird house was intended to look old and worn, like the one we have. I'm pleased with how it turned out.

Will you chose the tulips, butterflies, or cherry blossoms? I can't wait to see what you will make. I'm so glad that you came by to visit today, hope it made you smile!

Inspired By.... Wrap Me Up in Spring

Hi friends, happy Thursday!

We have another wonderful spring theme and challenge for you today at Inspired By!  I am loving all florals right now, especially those images I can paint with watercolors.

That is exactly what I did for today's card. I was inspired by the colors in the photo, and the texture in the tissue wrap. The designer paper added a linen texture, and I used an oval dressed up with a die. The bouquet was  stamped on water color paper, colored and die cut.

Of course, I had to wrap the blooms in a ribbon bow.

What will inspire you this week? I hope your days will be wrapped in smiles and a happy heart.

You will be WOWed by the gorgeous samples of our team. Thanks so much for coming by!

Inspired By...Carrot About Spring

Well, if the title of this post didn't grab your attention, I don't know what will! Have you, like me, been seeing a huge crop of carrots on cards for spring this year? Bring them out for this challenge and join the fun! We say, let's keep calm and carr-ot on!

My card is about as quirky as the bad puns. I combined images from several sets and here's what I came up with!

It's a tri-fold card. The fold is at the top and that panel tucks in behind the die cut letters. I chose to be inspired by the carrots, colors, springtime and puns. Here's our photo.

What inspires you? I can't wait to see what will be in the gallery this week! You'll find it here. Won't you join us?

Inspired By: Spring Into Color

I love it when the spring brings gorgeous flowers, blooms and splashes of bright colors. That's just what we are featuring this week at our challenge, Inspired By. What I love even more is when there is a sentiment that describes the season perfectly!

I found the perfect combination in the beautiful stamps from Penny Black called faith.hope.love, and Spring Day. Using my MISTI, I stamped the images on watercolor paper and used my Zig markers and a brush to add color to the images and the background. I didn't add spatters this time, but there are a few tiny dots to look like speckling on the eggs.

Our challenge is calling for SPRING COLOR and I sure loved creating this card.

We would love to have you play along too! It is always amazing to see how you are inspired.

Thanks for you visit, I've enjoyed having you stop by.
