A Card Sketch Take Two

Happy new day! I woke up feeling energetic and couldn't wait to stamp. I want to make all the things today. This card made up quickly and now I'm re-directing to get myself outside on this gorgeous fall day!

When you love a sketch it's so easy to make two while you're at it. This card is a repeat of the sketch from yesterday.

I love how simple cards can be so versatile and go from monochromatic to colorful, artsy to elegant, and whimsical to dramatic.

Absolutely in love with the Artistry Blooms DSP (Stampin' Up!) I colored the roses in matching hues with Copics. The sentiment and flowers are embossed in gold, and I added gold flat sequins so it's flat to mail.

Stamp sets are Hello & Thanks (WPlus9) and Blooming Sentiments (Penny Black.)

Thank you, CAS(E) This Sketch!

Thanks to you for visiting today, hope you are doing well.

Thankful

Hello and welcome to my blog! I was very busy last week with non- crafty stuff but I'm jumping in with a clean and simple card for you today.

When I find myself short on time I prefer making a card quickly  because it keeps my mojo flowing, instead of taking a break until I have time to make a more elaborate one.

I began with scraps on my desk and a great sketch to make this monochromatic design. I created a panel with Distress Oxide inks and had used it in THIS card. I cut two panels to use in today's card and I can't be sure you won't see some of it again!

The leaves are from WPLus9 (Autumn Leaves) colored with Copics and die cut. The sentiment is from Neat & Tangled (Oak Leaf).

I'm entering the CAS(E) This Sketch challenge, I loved this sketch and the lovely DT samples.

I hope you have a wonderful day today. I enjoyed your visit!

A Dynamic Duo

Hello, stamping friends, I hope that you are doing well today! Sometimes a card will make itself. That's what happened with this card, when I just couldn't put away the Inside & Out Berry Die (The Greetery) without making one more card.

I inlaid the die and combined it with the bold patterned Artistry Blooms DSP from Stampin Up! adding a sentiment from Altenew. Sneaking this in to the challenge at CAS(E) This Sketch. Hope you have a wonderful day! Thanks for visiting!

Music of the Earth

It's the first day of fall and as I write this the chilly weather really gets me in the mood! Just a quick post today of a card I made awhile back and I hope will inspire you.

I love the Botanicuts Rose Die (The Greetery) and wanted to try cutting designer paper to form the petals. I found a paper in my stash with varying shades of yellow/gold and went with that. It makes the rose less bulky and I love the look! Adding more papers from my stash for the leaves, and a burst of white from the Inside & Out Berry Branch Die rounded out the focal point.
Here's a close up of the lovely layers.

Finishing out the card is a sentiment stamped on black ( from Penny Black: Blooming Sentiments) and embossed with white, and black Nuvo drops.
Rushing to post this as I have 6.5 hours of ZOOM class coming up. This will take place every day this week, stretching my mind! Creativity will be coming in spurts, if at all.
Thank you for coming to my blog. Hope you're surrounded by music for your heart today!

FALL is my Favorite!

Hello, it's Friday and I had time during the rainy day yesterday to create a card for my favorite season of the year!

I just could not resist the adorable bears and the squirrel in the Hey Fall! stamp set from Sugar Pea Designs. I love the sentiments too. And pumpkins and a sunflower and the blue bird. Images were colored with Copics and cut with the coordinating dies.
I paired it up with the SugarCut-Birch Forest die also from Sugarpea. Sponging the background with Oxide inks also made me happy as I crafted! I stamped the sentiment on a piece of the ink blended card stock. Inspiration for the layout came from Judy at Freshly Made Sketches!

I've acquired some new stamps and I'm glad to share them with you! Not sure when the spending freeze need will kick in, but I'm enjoying the new stamps and dies while they last! That also means I can enter the NBUS challenge which I love!

I'm happy to be playing along. At the end of another week, I hope you are finding the silver lining to your days!

Color Hues #2

Hi there, and welcome to my post for Color Hues Challenge #2! This time we are challenging you to use Turquoise and Navy for your card or project.

I thought these were good for a get well card using Bouquet Builders 6 Combo from Waffle Flower.

I colored the images with Zig markers and added details with colored pencils. Adding tiny images in navy helped to round out the design.

I hope you'll be sure to check out the fabulous designs from the team.

We were thrilled to have so many of you playing along with us and can't wait to see how you are inspired!

Beautiful Day with The Greetery

Good morning, and happy Monday to you! I am popping in to share a card I made over the weekend. I was feeling just a tad stir crazy until I got the stamps out and started playing with inks!

The With Love at Christmas set from The Greetery seemed just perfect for the sketch challenge at Freshly Made, so I went with some fall-ish shades of greens, yellows and red for the images. The mint-y shade of the card base seemed a good match when it came time to assemble the card. What do you think? Is it too springy looking?

My favorite part of this whole project is the Rose Gold  (Altenew) embossing powder I used for the sentiment. I love that color! I'm getting this in just in the nick of time.

I sure can't thank you enough for spending your time with me today!

Fall Birthday with The Greetery

 Hello, welcome back!

I have finally given in and made a fall card. Well, actually, I made an inked panel or two a week ago and made it into a card today. I've wanted summer to last forever but it's been cooler and rainy so I might just have to admit that fall is on the way!

I used Distress Oxide Inks directly onto Neenah white card stock, changing colors and directions and then adding ink and water splatters. I love how they turned out but decided that a little orange on a card front makes more of an impact, so I used just a strip.

I inked and stamped a tree and a sentiment from The Greetery. Adding a few smaller leaves (from WPlus9) completed the design.

I need some new birthday cards so I was happy to play with Jaydee's Theme challenge.

Now that' I've cleaned up my craft space I'm headed back there to create again. I find nothing helps me get in the mood to find my mojo more than totally cleaning up the space! Using the bits of card parts helped too.

Thanks so much, I appreciate your visit. Make it a great day!

A New Technique - Monoprint

Hello, crafty friends, I hope you are doing well. I had a chance to stamp today and picked up the pieces in my completed pile to finish up into a card. Thought maybe I should make a note card set with some of the other prints I've made, but that will be another day's project.

The technique uses layers of ink and creates a monoprint. I used that as the main panel on the card, with a foam base to add dimension. After you create one of these you just don't want to cover it up!

I used Oxide inks in soft yellows and pinks for this card, since it was made in spring.

Yep, it's been sitting here ever since the Online Card Class Spring Card Camp 2! I loved learning this technique. It is also sometimes made using a Gelli Plate. See that panel underneath? That faux watercolor look is also part of the technique. A two-fer, if you will! The close up helps you see the softness of the print, created with ink and a brayer.

I hope you've enjoyed my post and been inspired today! Thanks so much for taking time to visit and leave a comment. See you soon!

Hello, and welcome. It's a new day and a new month!

Today is the big day for the first challenge at Color Hues! It's been in the works and now I am so excited to share it with all of you.

I chose bright hues for today's card, stamping a bouquet wrapped up with a bright yellow bow.

Don't you love these colors?

I hope you will visit the Color Hues Challenge to see the amazing DT samples there to inspire you and encourage you to play along!
