Sending you Warm Hugs

Hey there! Hope all is going well for you today! It's in the 70's here, with sunshine and breezes, so I thought warm wishes would be in order.

I choose warm shades of peach for my card, and used an inking technique and the new-to-me 3D embossing folder, Pressed Flowers, from Altenew.

I love the depth and details of these pretty florals!

I used sponge daubers and a brayer to ink the debossed side of the folder with Distressed Oxide inks in Spiced Marmalade and Saltwater Taffy. After I ran the card stock through, I added splatters of white acrylic paint.

The sentiment and tag are from The Greetery. And then there just had to be pearls.

Easter Blessings

Happy first day of spring! Are things beginning to warm up for you?  We've had plenty of sunshine and blooms and I'm loving it!

I had time to play with my paper flowers today, here's a card to share! The Paper Players has a clean and simple challenge and Ann asked us to feature a flower.

I inked up the tulips and cherry blossoms using the Budding Beauties Spring stamp set and dies (The Greetery) in lovely pinks. Keeping my card simple, I placed them on a panel of pale gray striped paper with a layer of foam behind it for added dimension.

The sentiment and the inks that I used are from WPlus9 design. It made me happy to pull out supplies that I've had for awhile that need to be used more often! If you'd like to play along with the challenge, there's still plenty of time. I'm adding this to Tic Tac Toe challenge using the row: Pastel Colors, Flowers, Spring Theme.

I hope you are having  a wonderful week. I appreciate the time you take to stop by so much.

Thinking of Blues for Color Hues

Let's say goodbye to Green and Gold and enjoy some blues at the Color Hues Challenge!  For challenge #60 Marcia has chosen Blue and Turquoise for our hues and the DT samples are amazing!

I never quite know what inspires my stamping or how the process makes twists and turns as I go along. For this card, I began with a gorgeous embossing folder and just fiddled with adding color!

The Spring Burst 3D folder (from Spellbinders) has deeply embossed florals with detailed leaves. I began by coloring the large floral spray after it was embossed, lightly with Copic markers.  I love how the big bloom turned out, but felt the other leaves and blue vine needed more contrast, which I added with colored pencils.

The sentiment (PTI) and black mat, and a few sequins are the finishing touches.  I will continue to experiment with ways to use this pretty folder, the deep texture is fabulous.

I hope that you've been inspired today and will join us in playing along!

You Are Amazing

Hey there! I'm here for a quick card share and I'm glad you've stopped by!

I pulled out some patterned paper and made a fun fold card using WPlus9 Spring Floral dies. The sentiment is from Honey Bee.

Thanks for having a look!

I'm adding this to NBUS as the dies are new, and the Tic Tac Toe Challenge.

It fits the rows Fun Fold, Die Cut, Spring and across Spring, Emboss, Patterned Paper.

Feeling Tropical

Well, hello again, I am thankful that you're hanging with me on my blog today. The weather has turned gorgeous! I've added some wonderful and welcome activities to my week, thanks to a burst of very good health!**  But I did manage to pull a card together, here it is!

I loved seeing the wonderful colors in my new card stock from Concord and 9th and the bright greens and blue inspired stamps and die cuts with a tropical theme.

Stamping the florals and leaves from WPlus9, I used the Tropic Fever dies to cut them out. Other leaves were cut from card stocks using dies from MFT (Greenery - retired.)

Amy's lovely sketch at Freshly Made inspired my card layout. I am glad you've come by to visit today. I'm enjoying your comments and visits so much!

Special Day for Color Hues

Hello, welcome to my blog today! A new month means a new challenge at Color Hues! Carol has chosen Green and Gold for us to use, and it's full of possibilities as you will see in the wonderful DT samples. Of course there's the Luck O' the Irish option which also first came to my mind, however, I went a different direction. I have a friend who loves green so I set out to make a birthday card for her.

I thought peonies in white with deep green leaves would pair up well. Actually, I was mistakenly picturing magnolias but the flowers can be whatever colors I make them, right?   I began by using the Peonies Hot Foil Plate by Spellbinders with Gold foil for the floral focal point. Adding accents with Copic markers in greens and gold brought out the details. I layered white card stock and gold designer paper panels cut into deckle edged rectangles, cut the floral spray out and adhered it on top.

The card base is covered with paper from Altenew in ombre shades of green. It has a lovely shimmer to it, easier to see in real life. A strip of deeply embossed white card stock patterned with blooms adorns the side of the card.  A bit of twine and a black sentiment with gold foiling finish it off.

I can't wait to see what you will create with these colors! The most important thing is to have fun as you go.
