It's Time for a Sketch! So Sweet!

Hello friends! It's Sunday, time for a Sketch Challenge from Jaydee at The Paper Players #610! I have found that when we're away the mice come out to play and they made their happy appearance on today's card.

I may have taken a bit of liberty with the sketch. It seems there are quite a few variations possible. I used a pale gray rectangle behind the die cuts so the three sweet mice wouldn't seem to be flying along the top of my card.

The mice were colored with Copics very simply. I used a second sentiment on the bottom of the banner. I love when sentiments combine that way.

How will you choose to create with this sketch? I sure hope you will find time to play along! Have a wonderful week.

Clean and Simple for Fall

Hello, it's Sunday! Time for a new challenge at The Paper Players #609! Claire's Clean-and-Simple Challenge asks us to use Scarecrows or Leaves on our projects. I went with leaves, here's my take!

I stamped leaves using Distress Oxide Inks in Uncharted Mariner, Peacock Feathers, and Wild Honey. The leaves are a new set from WPlus9 Design called Wild Flowers, and the sentiment is from Hello & Thanks.  The very simplest embellishment is a wooden leaf tied with twine.

I can't wait to see what you will create. Have a wonderful day!

Color Hues I'm Thinking of You

Hello, welcome to our mid month challenge! Our weather is still summery. I've had my card ready to go for the new colors chosen by Tracey for Color Hues Challenge #49, Yellow and Brown!

These are a perfect combo for fall or back to school cards. You know, I just had to go with florals and a bit of loose watercoloring. How will you be inspired?

I used Distress Oxide Inks (Fossilized Amber) and a paintbrush to add yellow, including a splattering of ink for a more distressed vibe.

The sentiment was stamped with Versafine Onyx ink and heat embossed clear.

I can't wait to see what you will make! Hope you can join us in the challenge. Thank you for coming by today! I love having you visit.

Find Beauty for The Paper Players

Good morning on this Sunday Sunday September 11.  I hope everything is going well with you today! I am so glad you're here to join in for The Paper Players Challenge #608. Joanne has a wonderful group of colors to choose from for your projects!

I pulled out some of my Stampin' Up! card stock and made my decision to feature dies and flowers using the MFT stamps Flower Bouquet Dynamics.

These can be arranged in so many ways and I love that they have some cuts that allow the individual blooms to flex for some dimension.

I used Old Olive, Mint Macaron, Blackberry Bliss, and Daffodil Delight card stocks. The basket (from The Greetery) is lined with a soft Petal Pink pattern from Stampin' Up!'s Textured Chic Specialty Designer Paper. The crosshatch die (Stampin' Up! Chic Dies)  is one of my favorites to provide a textured backdrop. The sentiment was stamped using Blackberry Bliss Ink. I love the contrast this color gives! It's a nice alternative to black.

That's it for me today, I hope that you will be inspired to play along!

Jump for Joy for The Paper Players

Are you ready for a theme challenge for The Paper Players #607? You're here just in time for some Fall Fun!

What could be more fun than jumping into a pile of leaves? Just for the joy of it! I added a die cut cover to a white card base, and topped it with a tag sporting a cute critter.

He is a squirrel but I used Copics to color him in foxy colors.

I can't wait to see what you will create. Have fun doing it! Thanks so much for your visit today.

Cozy Birthday for Color Hues

Welcome to a new month, yaay for September, it's one of my favorites. In the US, we're beginning a holiday weekend. Maybe you're traveling, or just maybe you're having a bit more time to craft. Either way you will love Sheri's color picks for us this month at Color Hues #48.

I put them to use designing a living room scene! I'm generally not fond of small dies, but I kept seeing these and just had to try them.  Turns out, they are so much fun. I love them!

They inspired me to take a peek at my patterned papers. I just knew the navy floral was meant for curtains and matching pillows.

I layered two die cuts for the plant image for added texture and accented with colored pencils for depth. Isn't the cozy birthday sentiment cute?

This challenge is special because we are celebrating our 2nd birthday. We're asking you not only to use the colors, but to make a birthday card. Helping us to celebrate are our friends at Seize the Birthday!

We hope you will join the party and create with us.
