CAS Butterflies

Hello, hope things are going well for you today!

I'm posting a quick share for two challenges today. Tic Tac Toe has a wonderful grid where I chose to use CAS, Metallic and Word die cut. The Paper Players are asking for a CAS Get Well card.

I am back to crafting a little bit each day, just when and as I can. It's helping me to work through my stash of supplies and I enjoy trying new things out with the challenges.

Today's card is a CAS slimline measuring 3-1/4" by 8". I got a new slimline folder from Spellbinders, and paired it up with the butterfly die cuts, also from Spellbinders and never been used.  Needing to use up some patterned paper, I chose the pretty Gradient Card stock from Altenew in shades of raspberry and topped the butterflies with a layer of vellum and silver foil for the bodies. The blue card stock, sentiment and die are from PTI. Yes, I really did mix it up this time, I truly scrambled to find a word die that fit.

This is the kind of get well card I would need for someone having a long stage illness. I hope I won't need it soon!

Adding this also to NBUS as we are almost wrapping up the month.

Sending a hug and a prayer for you today. See you in a day or two!

Black White and Bright

Hello, welcome back to my blog!

I was inspired to pull out black foil and the Glimmer Machine and had fun coloring one of my favorite florals.

The Pinkfresh Studio Bright Days Hot Foil Plate and dies were used, and although I have the coordinating stencils I didn't use them. I colored the blooms with Copic markers. The Woven foil plate created the black cross-hatch. I love how this looks in real life! Bold and shiny.

Trimming vertically the right side of the card front a bit shorter than the back allows the pretty paper inside to show. Lastly, the sentiment from Neat & Tangled was embossed in white onto black card stock and popped on foam for dimension.

This has turned out to be a fav of the cards I've created this year. Bright colors are my jam!

Just Us Girls challenged us with a Mood Board. I was inspired by the colors in the bottom left corner, the bold graphics and the HELLO.

See you soon, wishing you the best!

You're My Type for Color Hues #58

Hello stamping friends, how are things going for you? It's time for our mid-month challenge at The Color Hues Color Challenge, are you ready? Our dear Tracey has selected Lime Green and Cyan for us, and the possibilities are endless!

I know that I'm ready for a springy combo and this is it!

I went with a clean and simple card for an upcoming anniversary. I've had the You're My Type stamps from Sugar Pea Designs for a long while. It makes an easy card with lots of sentiment options. The die cuts include lots of layers for a realistic effect. I popped in each of those black keys die cuts to the gray surface.

For extra texture, I embossed with the new-to-me Sun Rays folder from Spellbinders, and cut the panel with a stitched rectangle. For the colors I used my fav hoarded SU! Cool Caribbean card stock and a sheet from an MFT paper pad.

How will these colors inspire you? I sure can't wait to see! Thanks for your visit today, I've loved chatting with you. Please do come again, it makes me smile!

Pretty in Pastels Birthday

I'm happy to be joining the color challenge at The Paper Players this week. Ann chose lovely pastels for us and I'm jumping in with my take on using Baby Blue, Petal Pink, So Saffron and Kraft.  I was stumped for awhile but then thought of using the colors in frames made with the A2 Arched Dies. Voila!

The card base was embellished with double stitched lines. The arched panel with frames was stamped with the sentiment and adhered.  After coloring the floral spray with Zigs I die cut it and used foam to mount it at a slight angle. I added a simple twine bow and three sparkling heart sequins.  You know how it goes, that spot just needed a special something!

This card show the benefits of challenges. I never would have used this mix of colors in this way without a prompt to get me started.

Fresh Bouquet

Hi there, friends, how are things going for you? I was inspired to play along with Time Out Challenges today for their special Photo Inspiration. We are CASE(ing) a gorgeous card from Gina K who is also the sponsor! That is certainly a wonderful incentive to play!

I was inspired totally by the rainbow colors and encouragement theme. The Fresh Bouquet stamps (from Penny Black) seemed a good choice for rainbow colors and a happy sentiment (from The Greetery - Just Mason Around).

I embossed the black ink on Distress watercolor card stock, and colored with my Zigs and a damp paintbrush. I wanted the colors to be super bright - but in the photo they seem a bit over saturated. The Slimline Border Dies from Spellbinders added just a touch of black.

Here's the link to Time Out and Gina's lovely card.

I'm off to get this posted and uploaded while there is still time. You come play too! See you next time.

This Little Piggy

I love when a card challenge prompts me to have a look through my stash to find just the right stamp. That's what happened when I re-discovered this cutie on the oldie-but-goodie set, This Little Piggy (Sugar Pea Designs.)

I colored the piggy with Copics and layered 'her' with polka dotted paper and a layer of stenciled hearts.

I've gotta think some one will love this Valentine!

I'm playing with:

Inkspirational -  I was inspired by the colors in the Moodboard

and Just Us Girls Color Challenge Week

and SSS Wednesday Challenge,  Fun with Dies. I used Deckle Edge dies from Spellbinders to cut the card layers.

I really appreciate your visit! I hope you've been inspired and ...tickled pink!

Zigs Coloring with Flora & Fauna

Here's a question for you. What do you do when your mojo is stuck?  First, I stamped images in January to color and worked here and there on them when I had snippets of time. Second, I got inspired by a new idea I saw online and instead of just watching it I determined to do it! Actually, it took me a couple of tries, but here's my card.

Using watercolor paper,  I stamped the lovely image from Flora & Fauna (WPlus9) in Warm Wool ink, which is a soft gray. Using Zig markers and a paintbrush I colored the floral spray, adding detail on the clock face with a black marker and die cutting the image.

The new technique involved using the frame die cuts to create a shaped card with vellum as the main front layer. Using a cover plate on the vellum gave a wonderful etched texture.

The die cuts are hinged at the top so the card opens and this close-up shows the panel for writing your note inside. It's really nice that the card stands up on its own.

These are the colors I used, and supplies are listed below for those who want more details. Thanks so much for sticking with me for this long post. Happy crafting to you!

Color Hues #57

Hello, I'm happy to see you visiting today!

It's time to turn the calendar page, and I am very glad to see it's now February! Are you ready for the new challenge at The Color Hues?  Jules has chosen Coral and Sage for us this month.

I'm always ready to bring out the Zig markers and do a bit of watercoloring.

After creating the background on watercolor card stock I used a vellum strip for the sentiment so it could shine through.

We'd sure love to have you join us, can't wait to see your cards in our gallery!
