Nautical Anchor

Hello, I'm back again.
Taking a break from flowers and the mail theme, how about we go nautical today?
The Nautical Anchor set from Stampendous has some terrific sentiments that I know I will use often.

Today's card is meant to encourage a very special couple who is stepping out to pursue a dream.  The sentiment is what sold me on this set and inside it says "Wishing you smooth sailing" and "Let your dreams set sail."
I kept the lines very clean as shown at Freshly Made Sketches this week.

The Wave Border die is from Wplus9.
Now I can't wait to get create something flowery brightly colored with lot of layers made for my next post. Are you surprised?
Have a great day!

TWOFER

TWOFER for this post refers to two cards and two challenges.

I'm so excited to be able to get this under the line on the last day of the Twofer Challenge! In case it's new to you, we are to make two cards using the same stamps or images for two different occasions. This month was a nautical theme.

It's a favorite of mine, so here are the two cards I came up with.

One card is a missing you occasion and the other is a birthday card. Both use the stamps and sentiments from the Sunny Studio Oceans of Joy set which has been in my prominent "to use" file all summer.  I think these little guys are adorable!

Here's a closer look at my favorite of these cards. I created it for the Color Throwdown challenge.

Thinking these shades were perfect for an ocean I ink blended a background using Distress Oxides in Tumbled Glass and Wilted Violet, adding spatters. I also stenciled the rays using Peacock Feathers.
The images were colored onto Bristol Smooth Card Stock using Zig markers. The glittered enamel star and heart came in my newest card kit. I just had to add some sparkle and also some WOS was added to the whale, octopus, and the balloon.

Phew! Guess this was a long post! Thanks for hanging with me.

Supplies used:
Stamps: Oceans of Joy
Paper: DSP (ret.) from SU!

Celebrate You!

I made a card for a special guy's birthday today with a nautical theme. I have quite a few nautical elements pulled from my stash and enjoyed combining them.

It came together easily using the Sketch from The Paper Players. I kept the colors classic and found the sketch gave a great opportunity to add some striped paper and a metal jewel to enhance the theme.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope your week is winding up well for you.
