Color Hues #83 Cream and Blue

It's time to play again at Color Hues! We have Cream and Blue as our pairing. What comes to your mind with these colors? I came back to layered flowers, delicate embossed texture and neutral shades for my vintage style card on cream card stock.

.

Beginning with the Airbrushed Flowers stamps and dies, new to me from Altnew, I stamped in shades of blue Distress Oxides inks and pale browns. I stamped trailing vine and flowers using the solid stamp included with Altenew Craft Your Life Project Kit: Meadow Breeze. The sentiment is also part of this kit.

After stamping the main panel, I embossed it with a beautiful folder from Anna Griffin (Lattice Ornamental ) and added sponging in the bottom right corner. I wanted to add pearls or lace, but the metallic pearls were just right as the flower centers.

Thanks for your visit today. I look forward to using these supplies again! I hope you will pull out your favorite supplies and join us in the challenge!

BE Square with The Flower Challenge

Hello Friends of the Flower Challenge! Our March challenge is still going on and we'd like for you to create a square card and of course, one that includes flowers! I'm here with another square card to inspire you to join our gallery before the challenge ends on March 25.

I was thumbing through my dies and with the square die was included a background that I'd made previously. Using that as a frame  helped me get off to a great start!

The frame used a technique of inking a large panel, and embossing a background over top. Then using a damp paint brush, I blotted some of the color out to produce a lighter color and add texture on the blooms and leaves.

A simple image was watercolored and die cut for the focal panel. This card measures 5-1/2" square. I loved making it and I'm pleased with how it turned out.

The floral vase, butterflies, vellum spiral die cut and sentiment are from Penny Black. I'm adding this to the following challenges:

Penny Black Saturday Challenge.

I'm so very glad that you stopped in today. Let's visit again soon! How does tomorrow sound? Hope your day is going fabulously!

Showered in Love

Hello on a Thursday evening! I couldn't resist playing in Claire's theme challenge of Rainy Days at The Paper Players and the time to join is almost up!

The theme encouraged me to pull out the Rain Boot Bouquet Die from Spellbinders that  I've had in my new items stash and make a card.

I also have wanted to feature the Concord and 9th Garden Party Paper Pack and was able to combine a few patterns I just love and colors for my boots. I foresee lots of uses for theses dies in many color combos for encouragement cards. The sentiment is from Penny Black. Playing at The Paper Players.

I'm so glad to have popped in with a just for fun project today. It makes me even happier that you've dropped in too. Have a great weekend!

Songbird for The Flower Challenge

Hello again, friends!

It's a brand new challenge at The Flower Challenge #89 and we want you to make a SQUARE card. My card uses two of my favorite things, birds, and watercolored flowers!

The Songbird stamp set from Penny Black was stamped on watercolor card stock with black ink and I used Distress re-inkers as watercolors to color the images in this sweet scene.

This is my favorite kind of card to make. Simple, but with soft hues. The sentiment is also PB, from the  Happy builder set. These sets include a large greeting and small lines of sentiment to complete them.  Happy thoughts is one of my favorites.

It makes me happy that you've paid me a visit today. Your comments make me smile! Hope you your day is wonderful!

Color Hues #82 Turquoise and Green

Hello, we're ready to go with Color Hues #82 on this first day of the month. Seriously! How can it be March?

We have summery colors of Turquoise and Green which Tracey has chosen for us to create with. There are lots of themes possible for this one!

I've been looking to add some cards for guys to my stash, or at least some cards that aren't all flowers. The Monstera dies from Altenew were on sale recently and I made a purchase. Pulling them out of my never-been-used-pile for today's card.

I began by using tone on tone inking in an ombre pattern with the Sketched Lines stencil - also new.  I think it provided just the right interest for the crisp colors of card stock.

The layering dies add wonderful dimension too.

I loved using these hues, and wait until you see the DT samples. How about your turn? We hope you'll play along with us at Color Hues!
Thanks for visiting today. I will see you again soon!
