Keeping it CAS Tossed FLorals

It is Friday, hope things are looking up for you! After a couple very warm sunny days, I had spring on my mind.  These lovelies are from the Tossed Florals stamps and include the Floral Border die from WPlus 9.

Since I've been keeping up with Dawn's lives, I have a little pile of paper bits already cut or colored and just waiting to be used on a card. Some are panels or backgrounds.

That makes completing a sketch so easy! It spares me having  to THINK so long in order to decide what set or images to use. I'm using this one from Freshly Made sketches, turning it horizontally.

The florals were colored with Copics, and I cut a small panel to keep the card simple, adding a few cut out images for a focal point, and rounding the edges.

Enjoy your dreams of spring, whatever that means for you! I got my second vaccine dose, so my dreams of spring involve visits to those people I love and have not seen in so long. VERY soon! Be still my heart.

Sending hugs your way today too.

Inspired By... Quote Me

I had an idea right away when I saw the theme for Inspired  By Challenge #162 called Quote Me. I had many quotes I could choose from and wanted to feature a favorite Bible verse. Imagine  my delight when the quote fit perfectly into the Open Book Die from Sugar Pea Designs! I'd been waiting for this die to get back in stock and now is the perfect moment to use it for the first time.

Here it is!

Do you remember Verve stamps? I loved the Scripture verses especially and think the sentiment and die from PTI works well with it.

I did some ink blending on the background and the large book. The flowers were colored with Copics. I added a few gems and Glossy Accents to the thin black strip.

Want to know something about my color combo? I saw Sen. Amy Klobuchar wear a beautiful coat in a luscious color of pale pumpkin on Inauguration Day. Honey or marigold come to mind. She paired it with a burgundy scarf and face mask. Honestly, you can find color inspiration everywhere, HA! I love the honey gold of the bear in our photo too.

I will also share this card at NBUS, never-before-used-shtuff!

Hope you will be inspired to play along! Have a great day and thanks for stopping by~

Color Hues featuring W Plus 9 Designs

Hi there, friends! Are you ready for spring? Today's challenge at Color Hues will surely get you in the mood as we use Peach and Green for our combo. Colors I absolutely love, so I couldn't wait to create with my Modern Roses stamps and dies from W Plus9. My card is a CASE of one that Dawn Woleslagel shared in her Facebook Live Group. You can find the group HERE.

I began by creating a  multi-media background on white card stock, randomly stamping in black several images to create a textured sketchy look. I spattered gold paint on it to further distress. I used a whole sheet for this so I have panels to use for other cards.  This was a bunch of fun! Making backgrounds and getting messy in my craft room put me in a happy creative mood.

The flowers in this set are gorgeous any way you use them, but I learned a new technique from Dawn using WPlus 9 inks. Did you know that you can sponge on the colors, and then remove some of the ink using the Copic Colorless blender to create your highlighted area?

Have a closer look!

I love these ink colors but the special property that allows this technique is good to know! I created dimension by adding foam layers and gold thread behind the flowers.

The design team has fabulous inspiration for you, please be sure to check it out and join us!

Have a great day, and stay well.

Let's Inspire Some Cheer!

Hello, it's Thursday! Time for a new challenge at Inspired By, are you ready?

Our theme is Pretty as a Pitcher, and the photo features a beautiful bouquet. Now, I do have several stamps in shapes of containers I could have built a floral arrangement in. A bottle, a watering can, or a mason jar. Alas, no pitcher.

How about if I use a die and my imagination and call it a window box? That is exactly what I did, have a look!

What it really boiled down to is wanting to use these fab florals stamps and dies, Signed & Sealed from The Greetery. The Halfsies Diamond Die allowed me to use quite a few of these sprigs that looked to me to be similar to those in the inspiration photo. I also used the Windowpane Plaid Background Stamp to echo the classic stripes on the pitcher.

A bit of ink was sponged on the panel behind the flowers, and I added spatters of gold paint, gold thread and a few sequins. My photo is a bit dark, sorry. The flowers are a tad lighter IRL.

We can't wait to see what you will make! Please join us!

Inspired by...Krafty Love

Welcome to a new month! February is the month of love and Inspired By has risen to the challenge!

I've pulled out lots of items from my stash that share the love theme and went to creating this card with a song in my heart.

I found so much to inspire me in the terrific photo. The kraft and textures, mini floral print, lace and of course the hearts. I even spied a tidbit of silver ribbon for hanging the hearts pictured and incorporated that on the focal image in between the stacked layers of the die cut heart.

Supplies are listed for you below if you're interested. Hope you are having a safe, healthy and happy day!

Let's color it Pink and Red Colorado Craft Company

Hi there! It's good to see you here again. Just in time for our Color Hues Challenge #11 to use Red and Pink. I had so many ideas for this combo, but in the end these cute mice assured me they would look just adorable watercolored in a pale pink. What do you think?

I love the stamps from Colorado Craft Company designed by world-renowned illustrator Anita Jeram.

I stamped in black and used a brush and Zig markers to watercolor the images.I also scribbled the inks on white card stock to make the pink and red hearts. I added Nuvo drop polka dots onto the gray package, and added a floor from this great stamp by Ink Blots.

This set is called Birthday Wishing and since it is my first time using it, I will be posting over at NBUS where challenge #23 has just begun on this brand new month.

You will love seeing the fabulous creations from our Design Team, so please head there to check them out!

Thanks so much for your visit today, hope it's a lovely day for you.
