Inspired By 193 Friends Fall Together

Hi! Today I am celebrating my favorite fall event, when friends and family gather for the Thanksgiving holiday. Our theme this month at Inspired By is Friends Fall Together. For my card, I did some ink blending on the stamps before stamping them using my MISTI so that I could achieve multiple tones.

The larger leaf images are from WPlus9 Autumn Leaves stamp set. The smaller leaves and sentiment are from Gina K. It's my first time using the Wreath Builder template and I really enjoyed it! My card measures 4.50" square. A bit of gold thread and gold embossing are the dress ups.

I was more inspired this time by the theme although these are super fun prompts. Hope you will play along!

Have a great day!

Harvest Meadow Meets Succulents

How are you doing today, friends? Well, I hope! We've been enjoying gorgeous sunshine the last few days and it's still warm and pleasant outside. I love this Indian summer weather!

I know you came for a card, and I have been playing in the craft room too. The lovely sketch at The Paper Players has been on my mind, so here's the card I made using it.

I fell in love with the Harvest Meadow DSP from Stampin' Up! and was trying to come up with a way to use the gorgeous pattern in pale neutrals. Inspiration comes from the strangest places. I have a friend who decorates beautifully. Her whole guest bath is done with pale kraft, gray, and white and sketchy botanical artwork. The only color in there was a bold pop of deep green from a tall succulent. I was brave enough to try to pair these images and patterns versus keeping it safe with matchy colors. What do you think?

Using sponges to ink the pot image, I combined colors to give an ombre look. The only embellishment is the clear gloss addition to the plant pot, and added dimension to the die cut sentiment, which brings a pop of white. I think I like it!

Our friend loves succulents too, so this will be a thank you for having us to dinner. Hope she likes it!

Thank you Paper Players for a great sketch!

I appreciate you so much for joining me here for a little bit. Be back tomorrow!

Pumpkin Season

Hello! What gorgeous fall weather we've been having! It's a sunny Saturday, and before getting outside I have a quick post today, using the Pumpkin Season stamps and dies by Julie Ebersole.

I love the simplicity of these images and just had to give a favorite color combo a whirl. The challenge at Fusion inspired orange and turquoise. After embossing the outline images in gold, I sponged inks to color the solid stamps allowing for gradation of the hues. I am adding Freshly Made Sketches to the playlist. The panel of kraft with stripes brings out the gold accents and sentiment.
Also adding this to NBUS since the stamps are brand new.
This was hard to photograph, it shines IRL.

Hoping you're having a great day take care and thanks for visiting!

Inspired By 192 Who's Your Boo?

It's Thursday and that means there is a new challenge at Inspired By! This week our theme is Halloween, and we hope you will play along with us.

I don't usually send cards at Halloween but I may need to start now that I have the brand-new-to-me adorable Good Fright stamp set from Hello Bluebird in my stash. I can't resist cute critters, especially if they are in super fun costumes!

I used Copics to color, then fussy cut these cuties. For the background, I sponged Distress Oxide inks and to top off the scene, added the Full Moon Scene Die cut from black card stock. Spatters and white gel pen accents gave a bit of detail. Here are the photo choices for your inspiration, and you will find wonderful samples from the team HERE

Thanks for coming by, I can't wait to see what you will make!

Birthday Blooms

Hey there! It's a brand new week and cooler weather has set in which I'm enjoying immensely. It's good to be  entering a new season and I am beginning to fall into the daily rhythm (pun intended). I do better with routine and structure, so I'm keeping that in mind as I amp up the card making. It seems to help keep fragmented-mind-syndrome at bay.

I almost wanted to title this post Squeaky Clean and Green. Just for a chuckle.

I'm adding this to the challenges at

The Paper Players

and Just Us Girls

It is good to begin on birthday cards for the coming year and a delight to take a break from leaves and use some flowers. The stamps are Birthday Blooms from The Greetery.

I'm not the only one battling fragmented thinking during the pandemic, am I? I hope you have a wonderful day! Thanks for coming to visit.

Winter Sparrow Get Well

Hello crafting friends! Today I am sharing a get well card made with the Winter Sparrow stamp set from WPlus9.  I love the pudgy birds and versatile images in this set. I inked them in fall shades using Distress Oxide and Altenew inks.

Using my MISTI, I sponged ink with daubers onto the stamps, blending ink colors and layers. While arranging the die cut pieces, I was inspired with the sketch at Freshly Made.

After getting ahead on some of my work for design teams, it was fun to create just for the joy of the process.
I hope you are doing well and I thank you so much for your visit!

Color Hues #28 Red and Kraft

It's a happy Saturday when we begin a new challenge at Color Hues! Red and kraft is a great combo especially if you want to add a Christmas card to your stash.

My options were decided as soon as mice and candy entered the picture!

This is a new set to me, since I just love the whimsical look of  Anita Jeram's stamps at Colorado Crafts. I paired the So Sweet Slimline stamps with Stripes & Dots background (also new to me) and matching dies.

I colored with Copic markers and added a few enamel dots. The white panel and the sentiment card stock were cut with dies from The Greetery.

You will be WOWed to see the fabulous DT creations! Please play along with us! Can't wait to see what you make.

Hope you are having a wonderful day, thanks for visiting. I will add this to the challenge at NBUS!

I'd Fall for You! Inspired By 191

Hello! Welcome to today's new Inspired By Challenge! My card reflects the fall mode that I am still enjoying.

When I saw the prompt I pulled out my favorite bear and created a scene of him and his friends gathering. Remember the cute squirrel?

You know I like keeping sentiments wide open until I am certain who I'm sending the card to. I thought this one fit well. The background was inked with Distress Oxides and I saved a piece of it for the sentiment strip. I colored the images with Copics and added dimension with a woodgrain embossing folder.

I'm so glad you came by to visit today! I hope you will play along too! You can choose from 2 photos or a sketch this time. Anyone can submit a card or project they have made. We hope to inspire YOU to create. Enjoy!

Inspired By #190 Pumpkins Rock

It's time to welcome you to  our new challenge today at Inspired By, Pumpkins Rock.  Always a fun part of fall, I love pumpkins!

My pumpkins are from the Sugar Pea Designs Hey Fall stamps and dies. I colored them with Copic markers, and used the coordinating dies to cut them out.

My layout is similar to a sketch I saw last week (you know who you are, Paper Players!) that I loved that had three windows. The brightly colored gingham paper  help the images to stand out, surrounded by the scallops and stitching of the windows. I keep loving the gingham!

I used the TE Mini Slim Square Window Cutting Plate.Trimming the edges allowed me to adapt this on an A2 size card.

It took me awhile to find just the right sentiment. I love this one from WPlus9 because it allows the card to be for an occasions or just a happy day.

Wishing you a happy day! Thanks for coming by to visit!

Just for Fun Friday

It's World Card Making Day, will you be getting crafty? A big YES for me, but the weather is gorgeous, so I will be getting outside after I write this post.

Happy to share a card I made last evening. All my cards for the design deadlines are made early in the week, so I pulled out some supplies I've been wanting to use and enjoyed stamping just for fun. And since it is October, I can enjoy making Christmas cards!

I decided to simplify designs for some of the cards I will send this year. Truthfully - I couldn't resist the new product collection from Penny Black called Masterpieces Made Simple. They feature a variety of pre-printed panels that measure 3.25" x 4.5". The linen card stock is excellent quality and the scenes are gorgeous!

I used the Icy Winds pack that includes 4 scenes, one of each design, plus the Berries Die and Touched by Peace stamp set, all of which are new to me. I can't wait to design elegant clean cards for mailing since I bought all the photo packs.

My first share this month at NBUS (the wonderful blog by Darnell) featuring Never-Been-Used-Stuff.

I was inspired by this wonderful Freshly Made sketch. I really like this one, hope to use it again! Thanks for spending some of your valuable time with me today.

Color Hues #27 Orange and Green

It's time for a new month and new challenge at Color Hues! I love October as the weather turns cooler here but it's still most enjoyable to be outside. It also begins my frenzy of making Christmas cards which is one of my fav stamping seasons.

For our challenge to use orange and green I began with an older kit that I still really love, Color Pop Autumn from PTI. It includes sturdy papers, stencils, stamps and pre-printed die cuts.

Beginning with a charcoal textured card stock that has design in white (you can see a sample of that behind the card), I used the stencils and Distress Inks to color the leaves and blossoms in shades of orange and greens. Stamping over the images, I added details like the veining or berry centers. The sentiment is die cut in white and I stamped the thanks. The die and sentiment were part of the kit.

I apologize for using products that are no longer available! These seemed perfect for the challenge and I am glad to have used them again after a long time of sitting on the shelf.

I sure hope that you will have fun creating and link your cards to the gallery! Have a wonderful weekend.
