Season of Chic Part 2

 Hello again!

Just a very quick post and a very simple card today. It does show how versatile the Season of Chic stamps and dies are as this card features the wash of color stamps and flower dies.

Stamping in bright Altenew inks suggest a flower bouquet. I love these flower dies, how they have a whimsical texture all their own with just the outline of the flower.

This thank you card came together in about 15 minutes!

Hope you week is going well. I so appreciate your kind comments and visits this week!

Luminous Seashells

Hi there! I really couldn't figure out how to title this post since it technically doesn't use my featured stamp set of the week. It is simply the Seashells 3d Embossing Folder, all dressed up!

The lovely Distressed Gold Designer Paper was die cut with the Season of Chic die and added for texture and bright interest.

As well, some inks were sponged to accent the shells, and a pale luminous glaze was added on some of the greenery. Small dots of aqua  were dotted across the top of the design.

The entire panel is Very Vanilla card stock, layered on a Soft Suede base. I sponged  around the perimeter with Distress Oxide ink. Purposefully leaving off the sentiment allows me to choose one or not, when sending it. I think I really like it best this way!

Have a wonderful day!

Three for One: Season of Chic from Stampin' Up!

Oh, I can hardly believe that June is almost over, can you? June is my birthday month, and our dear new little grand made her entrance to the world last weekend! What a delight and such a happy time! God in His goodness helped me get better (even though vaxxed I had a rough stint with COVID)  just in time for my husband and I to help with the older children. You can bet I'm still smiling!

I really enjoyed being able to focus on one stamp set last week, and you seemed to like it too! Three cards coming up this week using the Season of Chic stamps and dies from Stampin' Up! If you missed it, you can find my first card made with it HERE

My second card is a clean and elegant thank you.

I began by embossing white card stock with the Seashells 3D embossing folder. I love the clean texture this gives! Using the die that looks like a grid, I cut that out of the embossed piece for even more texture. The shell on the left was die cut directly from the patterned paper, it was a perfect fit! The pink shell was die cut from the pink/gold paper and I stamped it to add the shell detail.

Every once in awhile this happens - I was positively thrilled with how this turned out!

Thanks so much for popping in! I've loved having you visit.

The Paper Players #597

It's time for a new challenge #597 at The Paper Players! It's a sketch challenge this week and I love playing with sketches! Seeing as it's been super hot here, my card had to have a cooling off feature, lol. How about a kayak on the water?

I thoroughly enjoyed taking a literal approach to the sketch and making a masculine (or not) birthday card. I snipped out the kayak, colored it in with colored pencils and placed it on a white rectangle. I stamped the sentiment, the circles and fish as accents also using the Adventurous Journey stamp set from Stampin' Up!  The circle patterns were stamped onto white card stock using Dapper Denim ink and the Bold Prints Circle Patterns stamp from Hero Arts.

I kept this very very simple and easy to make. I can't wait to see how you will be inspired with the sketch! Hope you're staying cool, make it a great day!

One Set, Three Ways: The Greetery Print Shop Daisy Days day 3

Hi there!

Well, today I'm back with the third card using Print Shop Daisy Days! This ensemble of stamps, stencils and dies is so much fun to play with as there are so many options. Today is all about layers, layers and more layers!

I began by choosing my color palette. Using WPlus9 inks, I sponged in hues of pastels in aqua and peach using the stencil. I die cut it, and also quite a few extra flowers for layering. Before placing the die cut, I  sponged and splattered ink in aqua on a rectangle cut with the Postal Frames Die. I wanted to provide a splash of color behind the daisies image. Then I layered daisies and more daisies over top, placing the panel on a pale yellow card base.

It was hard to get a good photo. In real life, it's an explosion of soft colors! Adding a hand cut sentiment and a bow wraps it up.

I'd love it if you'd care to share some feedback. Do you enjoy this feature? Do you have a favorite of the cards I've shared this week? I would love hearing from you!

One Stamp, Three Ways: The Greetery Print Shop Daisy Days

Welcome back for day 2 with Print Shop Daisy Days! Clean and elegant is the style for today, with colors of pinks, aqua and gold.

This time I used the die cut image. After stenciling I snipped the image apart to use on a white card base. In keeping with the gold foiled sentiment, I added a few flat gold sequins.

I think this crisp and clean look is my favorite way to use the set so far. I may try one of these days just using a part of the stencil on a very simple one layer card.

Hope you are having a great day! One more for tomorrow, I pulled out all the stops on this one! See you then!

It's a trio of Daisy Days! featuring The Greetery

Hello,  I'm finding myself quarantined in the craft room so I'm making the best of it! In the heat of summer is when I really don't mind doing a little extra stamping. I'd like to focus on one set of supplies this week and make at least three cards with it to stretch myself and get more use out of one set.

My focus this week is from The Greetery: the Print Shop Daisy Days stamps, die cuts and stencils.

I used Distress inks in tumbled glass, broken china, peacock feathers, mowed lawn and cracked pistachio to fill in the stencils. I partially die cut the large image on the left side, and slid an aqua panel underneath the die cut parts.

A few extra flowers were die cut for dimension and layered on top. The sentiment is from the Comforting Commands stamp set. These daisies will surely bring someone a smile!

This is a new set, so I will be entering this at NBUS

I'll be back tomorrow with day 2 of Daisy Days. Hope you will visit again!

The Paper Players #596 Make it ONE Layer

Hi there! It's time for a new challenge at The Paper Players #596! Our lovely hostess Jaydee has chosen a one layer CAS challenge for us this week. It's been a long time since I've made a truly one layer card. I came up with an idea that's a bit different. Hope you like it!

I've been playing around with some freehand loose watercoloring over this past year. Using strokes and blobs of color in a random fashion to create flowers and leaves in a bouquet using just paints and a paintbrush. I took one of my practice pages and decided to make it into today's card.

I went back in after the first layers were dry to add just a few details. The idea is to keep the images loose - and flowing - and not too detailed. I kind of make up the composition as I go.

The only stamping is the lovely sentiment from Penny Black stamps. I am absolutely only a beginner - playing at the watercoloring, so just know that. It's fun to try something new! If you are at all interested in learning to paint, you must check out the videos by Dawn Woleslagle HERE

Got covid last week and that was NO FUN! Still not over it and then there's more time to quarantine. I know I will be feeling better when I feel like stamping again! Hope you can find some crafty time and join us!

Stay well, friends!

Blue and Green for Color Hues #43

Hello, how are you doing? Hope things are going well! Today is a new challenge at Color Hues and if you checked earlier you may have seen my incomplete post. Photos only! I unfortunately have COVID and am quite a bit under the weather. But as you can see, I have some jewel tones of blue and green to brighten your day!

This card uses a technique called ink lifting which begins a background inked and blended on heavy card stock. I use Vicki Boutin Foundations Mixed Media and DOX inks. After it was thoroughly dry, I heat embossed the Spring Flowers background stamp (SSS) in white.

Going in to some of the flowers and buds with a damp paintbrush removed ink and brought out gradations of wonderful hues that vary according to the amount of water.

I love this effect and will be using this again. It takes a bit of time but the effort is worth it. Thanks for visiting!

Happy Colors for The Paper Players #595

Hello friends, it's time for a great Color Challenge at The Paper Players #595 and you will love it! Claire has chosen Real Red, Pacific Point, and White for us to use this time around. That suggests some bright and fun options for you and we hope you'll play along!

My card began with a background that I made using a diagonal striped stencil and DOX inks in shades of blue. I die cut a few clouds from that panel but set aside the rest so that I could use a solid card base of Pacific Point for accuracy.

I colored this sweet image of the girl and her umbrella with Copic markers. I've been admiring these stamps for years and finally ordered them (MFTstamps BB Rain or Shine). Using them for the first time is fun! Adding this also to NBUS.

Have some crafty time if you can, we'd love to have you join us! See you soon.

Happy Summer for The Paper Players #594

Welcome to my blog and a new challenge at The Paper Players! The lovely ladies give us good reason to pull out our stamps weekly to create something unique! This week our theme is Food and/or Beverages. I was inspired this very moment to grab a cookie or two as I write this post, HA! How will you be moved?

I love these lemons and bitty flowers from The Greetery and created a summer scene using Lemon Blossoms stamps and dies, and Sprinkled with Kindness.  I inked them up with Altenew Inks. I used a woodgrain background for a rustic look.

The breeze on my back porch made for some happy creative time today! Wishing the same for you! Hope you are enjoying your weekend. Thanks so much for taking a peek and your kind comments!

I will also play with the Tic Tac Toe Challenge that asks for flowers, twine and free.

Rainbow Blossoms for a Friend

I know that when the flowers bloom and the weather turns warm it means lots of outside time for most of you. It happens to be very very hot here this week and I am trying to spend a bit of time in the craft studio enjoying the air conditioning and my stamps! That doesn't keep me from stamping colorful armfuls of flowers!

Finding it easier to keep the mojo coming when I stamp more often, this is a quick take on the challenge at Fusion where I was inspired by the rainbow colors in pastel shades and circles in the sketch. The sentiment circle was lightly inked with Kitsch Flamingo.

I'm also linking this new stamp with the NBUS challenge where it's a new month and the gallery has lots of room for your projects with new supplies. I appreciate your visit, wishing you a great day!

Color Hues #42 Black and Yellow

Welcome to my blog! June 1st is a special day! It's the beginning of my favorite month of the year, and the start to a new challenge at Color Hues

Black and yellow. Flowers? Bees? Butterflies?  How about a humorous birthday?

I love the masculine vibes in the MFT stamps and dies called Get Down to Basics. I like how this looks in black and yellow!

All the images were stamped, colored with Copic markers, die cut and assembled on the card front. For extra detail I added some DSP and Glossy Accents to the smiley face. The main sentiment was embossed with white ink. On the inside it continues with "OFFICE MEMO: You're Awesome!"
Speaking of awesome, be sure to visit the blog to see inspiration from the team that can't be beat! Thanks for your visit here today!
