Pretty Poppies for Paper Players 593 with Honey Bee

Glad to welcome you to today's post featuring the Lovely Layers: Wildflower Honey Cuts from Honey Bee stamps. The Paper Players challenge is from our very talented artist Ann, and you know she loves flowers! I thought it would be great to feature these pretty dies for the first time.

These are beautiful in any presentation because they have embossed details on every die. I chose to cut them from watercolor paper and paint them with my watercolors. I added distressing and shaping with a stylus and and rounded tool, curling the edges as I glued the flowers together. I love the dimension!

The Tic Tac Toe board suggested patterned paper. I ended up using the diagonal row, die cut/ floral/ribbons, but since I felt the design needed just a bit more of something, I kept in the paper. I have the option of adding a sentiment later.

I can not wait to see what you will make! So many options make this an easy challenge to join, we hope you will play along!
Thanks so much for your visit today!

Teacups Hello

Something new and something old. On day 9 of Spring Card Camp Jennifer taught Inlay die cutting with a new twist.  Here's my take on the technique. I had so much fun creating this tower of teacups and saucers!

I used the WPlus9 stamps and dies called Hello and Thanks. I love this set, it's one of my favorites! The floral cluster was colored with Copics. The adorable Tea Boutique Papers from Stampin' Up! are a great mix and provide the patterns and colors. I added a bit of shading to each die cut with a gray marker.

Now I'm off to make some tea in my red teapot, sip and eat a very late breakfast. Hope you have a beautiful day!

More Ink Lifting

I asked my husband for a new way to greet you at the beginning of my posts before I wrote this. His suggestion? "HEADS UP! Incoming!" I hope that gave you a chuckle or at least a surprise, lol!

I know you're not surprised at how much I'm enjoying the inking play at Online Card Classes. We are on Day 8, but I'm still on Day 1 as far as trying things out.

This card began with white embossing using a background stamp (Pinkfresh Studio) over an inked background. I love the dramatic ombre achieved by lifting ink out from the leaves and flowers with a bit of water. There are my favorite embellies for spring, butterflies and pearls! Thanks for taking a peek at my creations today. Hope all is well with you.

Ink Lifting with Spring Card Camp 2022

Hello! Another quick post to share the technique of ink lifting that Jennifer showed on day one of the newest Online Card Class.  This is the second version of her technique, spritzing an inked embossed background and then using pressure to transfer the ink to another blank card stock panel.

This is the softer panel where the colors are more subtle. I used Distress Oxide inks, and added stamped and layered die cut images for a focal point in finishing off the card.

I really love these colors and the results of all the inking. I'm happy to have used images from The Greetery as it is their third anniversary of opening the store. I'm delighted to help them celebrate! Hope you've enjoyed seeing this, have a great day!

Playing at Spring Card Camp!

Greetings! I am dropping in with a quick post to share a fun project. I love playing with my supplies and the Online Card Classes Spring Card Camp 2022 is giving me a perfect chance. I love these classes and have taken almost ALL of them!

The lessons, great samples and new techniques or even old ones revisited - get me to see my supplies with fresh vision. Every card doesn't have to be a masterpiece, you know?

While this card turned out way too busy for me - I  created a birthday card with a nautical theme for someone who will love it.

Using layered dies for a background isn't as hard as it looks! Supplies are listed below, and you will see how I have different companies in the mix.

I am adding this to our challenge gallery at Color Hues where I chose Red and Aqua for our combo this time. These are go-to's in my book for a nautical scene. I will be back soon, happy day!

The Paper Players #592 A Sketch with Season of Chic

Hello friends! Every once in a while a collection of products come by that seem to be just for you. I have long loved gathering sea shells at the beach and marveling at their natural beauty.  My home is filled with the collections! When I saw the Texture Chic Suite Collection  (Stampin' Up!) I knew it was for me!  With an assortment of seasonal images in a sketchy style with dies and shimmering papers, I envision beautiful creations throughout the year.

Just in time for LeAnne's fabulous  sketch challenge at The Paper Players, here's my first card made with the brand new goodies.

I layered two of the specialty papers onto a white card stock panel. I love the airy washes of color and gold foil accents in these. For the shells, I did layered stamping with Distress Oxide inks in Spun Sugar, Wild Honey and Broken China. The tiny shell is from the Seashells 3D embossing folder, snipped out and lightly sponged with ink.

They are assembled over a die cut piece of the Distressed Gold Specialty paper. I love this glimmer! A sweet sentiment stamped in Bermuda Bay and a scattering of elegant jewels (Buttercream by PPP) complete my project.

I hope you will head on over to see the gorgeous DT samples and join us for the sketch. I'd love to see what you make! You will also find this entry at the delightful NBUS Challenge (never-been-used-stuff.)

Thanks so much for your visit today, hope you're able to find some time to get crafty!

A Latte Love for Color Hues #41

Hello crafters, so glad to have you here for a visit to my blog!  It's time for a new combo at our Color Hues challenge and this time I got to be the one picking the colors!

I love Aqua and Red in general, and putting them together seems like a good idea. For our challenge you may use the two colors plus choose a neutral, so with a fun coffee theme, I added brown. Here's my card!

I've purchased a few simple stamps from Penny Black and I've been loving using them for CAS cards. I stamped on Bristol Smooth card stock and colored the images with Zig markers.

I'm not even a coffee drinker, but I just love this sweet illustration.

I sure hope you will be inspired to play along, I can't wait to see your projects in the gallery! Thanks so much for your kind words and for spending a bit of time with me today. Happy crafting!

The Paper Players #591 Clean and Simple with The Greetery

Hello there and welcome to my blog. It's a CAS challenge provided by Laurie for us at The Paper Players! When I saw the theme of "House" I knew the sweet Fresh Air stamps and dies from The Greetery would be my choice.

These are so much fun and perfect for making a simple card. I kept lots of white space and the colors bright. I wanted to use my new DOX ink in Saltwater Taffy and took color ideas from the inspo photo.

I added a bit of dimensions behind the curtain and flowerpot, and added the windowpanes at an angle. I will leave you to imagine the rest of the house!

Please join us to play along at The Paper Players. Clean and Simple cards are beautiful and the DT has fab inspiration for you! Thanks so much for your visit today.

I will share this link at Hand Stamped Sentiments Inspiration Challenge where the windows caught my fancy.

The Paper Players #590 Freesia Florals

It's Sunday! Welcome to my blog and challenge #590 at The Paper Players! I am loving my guest designer opportunity so much this year! Joanne has chosen wonderful colors for our challenge today, and they inspired an elegant floral encouragement card.

Dies are the star today, beginning with the white scrollwork cover plate. I liked using this to bring the brightness of white into the design. The flowers are from *new*to*me* dies that include embossed details and a stencil for adding inked accents. I applied ink to the edges of the leaves for shading. There are two different patterned papers I used for the images.

Of course, I chose pearls to dress things up!

I will be adding this to the Tic Tac Toe challenge choosing the middle row across: silver, flowers, layers. The bottom row works as well. Also, joining the lovely gallery at NBUS!

I can't wait to see what you will create for this challenge! I LOVE these colors together, can't wait to try them again. Thanks so much for your visit today!

Thinking of You for Color Hues #40

Hi friends! Glad to have you back to my blog today, and welcome! It's time for a new challenge at Color Hues! How does blue and tan sound to you? I made this card in advance, and since then I've thought of lots of other ideas. At the time I was stumped, and somehow this idea came to me while sitting at the kitchen table.

Can you see it? Trying to avoid fancy florals I used stamps and dies  from the Greetery and combined them with a couple patterned papers in my stash. What will you make to inspire us?

I kept the design simple and used the textured die cuts to assemble my plants on. Using watercolor paper on the rough side to die cut the plant pots added more texture. This card is a mini slim line and I learned how to make a matching envelope for it at Roseanne's delightful  tutorial HERE.

Having an envelope makes it much more likely that this card will get mailed. That's it for me today. Thanks for coming by!

The Paper Players #589 Hello Bluebird Garden Party!

Hello friends!  Maybe you are old enough to remember circling a flagpole for May Day celebrations on May 1? Well, I'm not quite that old - but I think outside parties and flowers are a lovely remembrance. I still can't believe it is MAY already! It's also Sunday so that means time for a new Paper Players challenge! Our theme provided by dear Jaydee is - birds and/or bees, take your pick! Or use both as I did.

I'm again featuring a Slim line card that measures 3-1/2" x 8-1/2". I had so much fun creating this garden party celebration! The images were colored with Copics with accents from a white gel pen added then die cut. The backgrounds were ink blended with DOX inks.

Here's a close up so you can catch a look at those bees! I will list supples below for those who like details.

Be sure to check the lovely inspiration provided by the Design Team and join us, won't you?

Stay tuned for my second post today to follow soon. Have a great time with your weekend crafting!
