Remembering Ukraine

Welcome to my blog! Sharing a card today that was made specifically to honor the heroic people of Ukraine using the colors of turquoise and yellow that represent the nation's flag.

I did a bit more coloring with my Zig markers for the lovely border which was die cut and added according to this great sketch!

I just realized that I switched the orientation of the panels but I think my interpretation is still OK.  I'll be back with two more posts over the weekend, thanks so much for your visit!

Pinkfresh Florals for The Paper Players #584

Hello crafty friends, welcome to a new week! And a new challenge at The Paper Players where LeAnne has a sketch for us. I love sketches and this one is fun.

I combined plaid paper (MFT) and floral images stamped using Pinkfresh Studio (Lovely Blossoms and Just a Hello Floral.)

I always eyeball blocked sketches instead of intricate measuring, ahem. That means I had to make this card twice to get it right, lol. Now that I've got it, I'd like to make another one soon.

I hope you will join us and create what you love using our sketch! Hope you have a wonderful day!

Pop Up Fun with Hello Bluebird

Hello, it's Tuesday and I've another card to share just for fun! I combined a new-to-me double layer pop up technique and the sweet Balloon Buddies stamps and dies from Hello Bluebird for this special birthday card.  I did easy coloring with Copic markers and used the dies to cut out these cute images.

Inspired by THIS wonderful tutorial by Jennifer McGuire I followed her directions for making the box pop up elements and assembling the card. No special dies needed. Yaay! I love that part.

Another plus is that the card stands up on its own. The photo below gives a peek of the side view.

I added what I thought were silver gems but discovered in different light that they are pearls.  Too late now, lol! These stamps are new to me, so I'm joining the challenge at NBUS once again. Also, playing along at Time Out

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you have a wonderful day!

Clean and Simple Blooms for Paper Players #583

How can it be that challenge #583 for The Paper Players is here? This wonderful group has been inspiring us week after week for a very long time! I am having so much fun as one of their Guest Designers this year.

Our challenge comes from Laurie this week, to make a Clean and Simple design with the theme of Blooms. Now you know, I have TONS of floral images, right?

I chose Spring Flowers and More Spring Flowers (SSS) from my stash. So enjoying playing with this older set again, I actually made up three cards and you will surely see them in future posts . I just love the stitching on these images.

I embossed them in white ink onto white card stock. After blending Distress inks to supply color in layers I snipped and die cut the images. Keeping the card simple I used inlaid stitching rectangle dies for the background (Lawnfawn). I think pearls make the perfect simple embellishments.

Can't wait to see the team's inspiration and your wonderful projects in our gallery. Have a fabulous day, friends.

Hello SPRING!

Hi everyone, this time I made a card just because. Because I wanted to. Because I had NBUS (never before used Shtuff!in this case, the stamps). Because spring is almost here and it's a lovely bright and sunny day! Because one of my favorite things to do is color. Well, I could go on and on, but I think you'd like to see the card instead.

Using the Bunnies & Robin stamps (Colorado Craft Company) I die cut an oval of watercolor paper, stamped the image in soft brown and used my watercolors from Altenew to paint this sweet scene. The darling critters illustrated by Anita Jeram really captured my heart.

As I went to post this, I saw that it's a perfect fit for two challenges.

The Tic-Tac-Toe challenge asks for birds, trees, and green; Or I also included the diagonal row of bird, coloring and flowers.
I will also add one more to the NBUS challenge gallery for this month.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog. I enjoy your visits and kind words more than I can say! Have a fabulous weekend.

Welcome to Color Hues #37

Hello crafters, it's time for our mid-March throw down at Color Hues! Nancy has selected pale teal and yellow for our challenge. We can't wait to see what you will make using this combo.

I was stumped for awhile as I anticipate using lots of flowers in upcoming posts, so I wanted to come up with something else.

I love this  sweet set from Waffle Flower, and thought now might be the first time to ink up the Jars of Happiness stamps and dies for a whimsical spring greeting.

Stamping on Solar Neenah white card stock, I lightly colored the images with Zig markers, then die cut them. Adding a bold sentiment and striped paper helps the images make an impact.  Applying a strip of pale teal and embellishing with enamel dots, completes the project.

Using a brand new to me stamp set means I will be posting this at NBUS!
As always, you'll find a fabulous assortment of projects to inspire you at the Color Hues challenge blog. Hope you will join us!

Have a wonderful day!

A Color Challenge for The Paper Players #582

Hello stamping friends, I hope your weekend is going well. Sunday means a new challenge at The Paper Players and I am jumping right in with a slim line card made using the challenge colors.

I'm still practicing with my Glimmer Hot Foil machine and liking the results but NOT the photos, if I can be so honest. I loved the inspirational message foiled in gold, but during my edit in order for it to really show up in the photo my white panel looks grayish.  Sorry.

Joanne has gorgeous colors for us to work with today! I added the hues with stencils after foiling the flowers and leaves in gold. The fab thing about the coordinating stencils, foil plate and dies is that all four flower images can be foiled and die cut in one swoop making it so so easy.

The new-to-me products that I love are listed below. Joining in at NBUS, here I come!

I hope you have a wonderful day. I'm going to celebrate the Light I've been given, today and keep looking for it. These are dark times but there is hope.

Spring is in the Air The Paper Players #581

Hello. and welcome to another great theme challenge at The Paper Players! Yes, spring is in the air here, and flowers are blooming everywhere! This week the daffodils popped out, the forsythia and cherry trees are in full bloom. Next to come will be the azaleas and dogwoods that are so plentiful in my state.

I'm inspired by the bluebirds that we see in our yard, they will soon be nesting!

My card features that very spring scene.

I'm using stamps from Honeybee called Love is in the Air.  The images were colored with Copics and fussy cut. I often don't mind fussy cutting, this time I outlined each image with black marker to hide any white paper bits peeking out.

The bird house was intended to look old and worn, like the one we have. I'm pleased with how it turned out.

Will you chose the tulips, butterflies, or cherry blossoms? I can't wait to see what you will make. I'm so glad that you came by to visit today, hope it made you smile!

Leaf Border Birthday

 Hello dear friends!

We've turned a page of the calendar but so much is going on. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are caught up in the struggles for world peace and the Ukranian people.  On this first day of March we have a new challenge going at Color Hues!

Our original challenge is to use Green and Gold on your card. My card was made a couple weeks ago, and I'm sharing that with you today. Additionally, in honor of those in Ukraine, we are offering a second challenge to use the colors of bright blue and yellow that reflect the Ukranian battle for freedom and give them a message of encouragement.

My card is clean and simple, and uses my favorite technique of late - foiling! I used the Autumn Leaf Border from Spellbinders and the Essential Glimmer Sentiments to create a masculine birthday card. I think the gold foil dresses up a classic style.

I'm finding that using Neenah Solar White 110 # card stock gives me great results with the foiling. It is sturdy so I was able to color the leaves with Zigs and a blender pen.

I will keep this short as I need to get busy getting this card ready to mail. I hope that you are doing well at keeping on.

Be sure to check out the team's creations and be inspired. And please join us in our special challenge for Ukraine! I will be adding my card later.
