Sweet Baby Hello for Color Hues

It's time for a new month and a new challenge at Color Hues! After having a break from some of my challenges, I feel so ready to jump into crafty action.

Hannelie has picked wonderful colors for us to use, yellow and pink. Sounds sweet and summery, and I thought perfect for a baby theme. I went looking for baby stamps and discovered I don't have any!

The onesie dies from Stampin Up! looked cute and I combined them with the BIG "Hello" stamps and dies from Waffle Flower. Papers are from my stash, I just love polka dots and stripes together.

I can't wait to see what inspires you! Be sure to check out the ideas from the rest of the team and join us!

Can you believe that we are in August already? It seems like we were just happy about July coming. I hope you are staying well. Glad to have you visit!

Flora and Fauna 3 for Color Hues

Hello and I am sure glad to be back from my short break. Glad you are back too! I hope things are going well for you.

It was my turn to pick our combo for Color Hues, and I invite you to check them out on the blog and play along!

Lime Green and Aqua can be bold and vibrant or pastel-y and summery. Which do you prefer? When I picked these shades I had bold in mind, but the pretty butterflies in the Flora and Fauna 3 stamps (new from WPlus9) were really fun to do using light sponging.

My slimline card measures 3-1/4 by 8-1/4". Images were stamped in light gray ink, and the sentiment was embossed in white on Basic Gray card stock. I added a few gems for sparkle.

I can't wait to see your projects in the gallery. Thanks so very much, I appreciate you stopping by. Hope you're having a great summer!

FIVE easy-to-make MINI Slim cards!

 Hi there crafty friends,

I always say if you don't know what to make because you're in a slump or just overwhelmed with too many choices, just go back to the basics! For me that means case-ing one of my own cards, limiting my supplies, finding an idea and rolling with it!

I did just that today. Vicky Papaioannou shared a fabulous video (find it HERE)  a few days ago, sharing how she made mini slim cards using her 6X6 Paper Pads. Her cards are fabulous and I was smitten with this idea, just had to give it a try!

Of course, I began with the papers I love, Mintay by Karola, but let me tell you these are very difficult to use because they are so busy. Plus, the vintage style really limited my choices of focal images. I will definitely be trying this again with some clean and simple papers!

With all that being said, I am really loving how these turned out.

The  first three  were made using the Lovely Day papers. The papers are my limited supplies. I didn't limit stamps or ink, lol!

Here's a rundown of each card and the supplies used.

Each card begins by scoring the 6x6 paper in half. All the papers used contain small images or tags to cut out and use as ephemera. That's all I needed for this card, plus the sentiment from TE Sketchbook Bouquet.

Card number 2 features the same set. I added the lines and sentiment in gray ink. The bouquet was painted with distress inks.

For card number 3, I used a flower stamped and cut with Budding Beauties Summer and a sentiment from The Greetery. This was conveniently already stamped and in my stash.

The last two cards use the Birdsongs paper packs.

I absolutely love these colors! One of the last two would have to be my favorite.

For this card, number 4, I added vintage images to the card base and a greeting. The rest are assembled cut outs from the paper.

Lastly, card number 5.  I stamped a rose image and used sentiments from The Greetery Sketchbook Roses stamps and dies.  I love that the papers are double sided so the inside complements the outside. I will add a panel inside each card for my message.

If you've hung with me through this long post, I applaud you! Do you have a favorite? Would you let me know which it is? Thanks for visiting with me today!

Red and Blue for Color Hues

Hello and welcome to my blog! A new month means a new challenge at Color Hues and we are featuring red and blue. Those are my favorite colors for a nautical theme and I had the perfect set from the NBUS pile ready and waiting.

I love how the images from Sailing Home (Stampin' Up!) can be layered for a focal point. A red frame and bold stripes and the card is done!

I know you will be wow'ed when you see the DT inspiration! What will you be making with red and blue? Can't wait to see!

Thanks so much for stopping by, hoping you have a wonderful day! For those in the USA happy 4th to you!

Hugs for Summer

I just felt like stamping today as it is hot and humid and my craft room is an oasis! Brought my iced tea and put on some bouncy music. Here we go!

After a few days last week of creating involved vintage cards, doing some good ole' stamping, fussy cutting for a clean simple design is my plan.

Also in my plan is playing in a new-to-me challenge at Sunday Stamps where they have a sketch this week.

I assembled my focal point using Press 'n Seal and glued it down all at once. Realized too late that it should have been placed lower but I'm going with it. After all, it was good 'n stuck!

Hope you're staying cool! So glad you came by for a visit.

Inspired By...Slip Into Something Comfy!

Here's a new challenge for you at Inspired by!  Called Slip Into Something Comfy, it shows darling pastel colored polka dot flip flops! Perfect for a summer theme. I love my flip flops and slipping into my pj's early on a wintry night. And I love polka dots!

Here's where I went with it.

How about slipping something into a cute polka-dotted envelope? I did! Remembering these sweet papers, I die cut envelopes, inserts and tucked a few stamped and fussy cut florals inside. I assembled then onto a white panel, and added it to a pink polka dotted paper for the card base.

I love the happy mail theme and know I will use the small envelope die often. This card makes me happy! See you in the gallery!

Vintage Birthday

Hello, welcome back! Here is the second card made with the new release at WPLus9 that I posted in detail about yesterday.

For this card, I featured the Vintage Ephemera Bundle and a smooshed background using Salvaged Patina and Twisted Citron Distress Oxide Inks.

Adding a new to me product, Tim Holtz transparent embossing powder, gave the butterflies a bit of special pizazz! I die cut extra flower layers to pop up and add dimension, plus some silver thread and sequins. This is a slimline card measuring 3.5 x 6.5"

Layering, smooshing, spattering and stamping. I loved every part of this process!

Adding this to NBUS

Hope you have a great day!
