Color Hues featuring W Plus 9 Designs

Hi there, friends! Are you ready for spring? Today's challenge at Color Hues will surely get you in the mood as we use Peach and Green for our combo. Colors I absolutely love, so I couldn't wait to create with my Modern Roses stamps and dies from W Plus9. My card is a CASE of one that Dawn Woleslagel shared in her Facebook Live Group. You can find the group HERE.

I began by creating a  multi-media background on white card stock, randomly stamping in black several images to create a textured sketchy look. I spattered gold paint on it to further distress. I used a whole sheet for this so I have panels to use for other cards.  This was a bunch of fun! Making backgrounds and getting messy in my craft room put me in a happy creative mood.

The flowers in this set are gorgeous any way you use them, but I learned a new technique from Dawn using WPlus 9 inks. Did you know that you can sponge on the colors, and then remove some of the ink using the Copic Colorless blender to create your highlighted area?

Have a closer look!

I love these ink colors but the special property that allows this technique is good to know! I created dimension by adding foam layers and gold thread behind the flowers.

The design team has fabulous inspiration for you, please be sure to check it out and join us!

Have a great day, and stay well.

I adore this card as I already may have mentioned. And I can't wait to try your tip! I never thought to use my blender pen with flowers to make the highlights! Now, your background is awesome as well and I do find that when I am in a creative slump if I just go in and make backgrounds it does help a lot. I am going to try your black and gold on white idea too. You are just full of inspiration over here today Cindy! Take care!

Your card is simply gorgeous! Those flowers are amazing, and I'm anxious to give that coloring technique a try. I wonder what other inks will work with it. I rarely use my Copic colorless blender so I'm glad to find a good use for it!

Don't know what I can add to what has already been said - this card is stunningly beautiful!

Hi Cindy! I just saw your card posted today and have become a fan! I am enjoying looking at your past posts and find them very inspirational. I am a retired nurse with grown kids and no grandchildren, and have gotten into creating cards lately with clear stamps, dies, and everything else that can fill up a craft room! Am a new follower to your blog!
