Color Hues #8

Hello stamping friends, it's that time again!  Yes, mid-December. We are almost there to Christmas but my post today is all about our new challenge at Color Hues. After all the Christmas cards we've been making, how does Green and Blue sound?

I'm enthused about these colors but making my card at the last minute brought on some pressure! Oh my goodness, as often as I kept telling myself to keep it simple, instead I fumbled and bumbled my way through the creative process.  For way too long.

I began with the English Rose Bouquet Die (Memory Box) which is gorgeous all by itself. But could I stop there? NO! I wanted to come up with something different. And I did. I wish you could see the pretty blue gems in the flower centers IRL.

I made a background using Distress Oxide inks, metallic inks and gesso on white card stock. Lost of playing, lots of splatters, and it was fun.

You can only imagine how things went from there! You don't need any more details. I urge you to go have some fun with these great colors.

Simple or complicated, it's all up to you! Hope to see you soon! Thanks so much for your kind visit.

I have to laugh with you, Cindy, but never at you. I have the same experience so many times. The pressure makes it all the more difficult. Nevertheless, I'm enthralled with that beautiful blue background and the pretty roses. You managed a touch of green in the border to set it all off, and it's absolutely lovely!

Your post made me laugh. We put the pressure on ourselves that is for sure. I just love the way your background turned out and that rose bouquet die is so pretty. I can see that it would get lots of use. Great job with the colors once again and Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Love your fab background Cindy, never mind it took you some time, you had FUN!
I always have loads of ideas when I'm not under pressure but you're right a deadline doesn't always focus the mind! :)

The background is fabulous, and I love the roses, too! I'll bet almost everyone has had the same experience when nothing seems to go right! I tore two cards apart yesterday and put them back together again--took twice as long as it should have. Have a wonderful holiday!

You know, it's always a wondrous card making experience when everything comes together as planned. But how often does that happen in real life? Not many times in my life LOL! I so identify with your experience but hopefully it was fun nevertheless and certainly the end result is an absolutely stunning card! Here's wishing you a lovely Christmas, Cindy!
