Mine was very laid back.
But not quite the way that I had pictured.
Saw some fireworks. The next day a trip to the ER led to spending 4 days in the hospital.
Putting my feet up, as they say. Lots of tests, and oh, the fireworks! They were flaring off in my digestive system. I am on the mend now and feeling way way better!
Sorry for that diversion into the realities of life. I never know how much to tell on my blog, you know? Do you just want cards or should we talk about something else every now and then?
Good news! A card photo too!
I spent some time stamping images and fussy cutting them last night. This prairie dog was just itching to go on a card. I am so into cute and kinda quirky right now. Waffle Flower alert! This trend may stick with me for awhile.
I used my brushes to ink a background on Bristol Smooth card stock in desert colors. I colored the images and arranged them to make a scene.
This is a flap fold card shared recently by Jennifer McGuire HERE on her blog. I decided to give it a try. There is a bottom panel that doesn't open. The inked panel opens and you can write your note inside. The Waffle Flower Summer Time set is NBUS so I will share at that challenge, and play along at The Paper Players too.
In all honesty, in reflecting, I must emphasize my gratefulness for the entire medical community! And above all, thanks to my Rescuer. His name is Jesus.
Thank you so much for your visit! Have a day filled with wonder.

Sorry to hear about your need to be in the hospital! I hope you are feeling much better! Your cards are very lovely! So cute with the critters and lovely backgrounds! Take care and have a great weekend!!
Adorable card! Cindy, I'm so sorry you were taken ill and landed in the hospital. Sounds like the same thing my brother might have and he went to the hospital Sunday, too. He's still there but improving. Glad you are home and feeling better!
My goodness Cindy, that was an unusual and probably unwelcome way to spend the 4th. Thank heavens you're home and recovering! I personally think a bit of personal sharing, to the extent you are comfortable, is welcome because it let's people see the person behind the cards. And you've created an absolutely darling one! WF images are so fun, and this little guy looks awesome hanging out in the beautifully ink blended scene! So glad you were feeling good enough to join us at The Paper Players this week!
Oh no, I hope you're feeling better now, not a good way to spend the holiday weekend! But your little card is as cute as can be, I love the images and it looks like a cool fold! Might have to try one of them myself!
Oh my goodness Cindy, sure hope you're feeling much better! And yes, thanks be to God for taking care of you! Now about this card... ADORABLE!!
First of all, I'm happy to hear you are on the mend! How horrible to be in the hospital during the holiday! Please take care...And now for the card! It is stinking cute! Your flap design is perfect for showcasing this little critter! Thank you for playing in my fun and fancy fold challenge this week at the Paper Players!
Yikes! ANY time in the horse-pital is bad! Four days... :( So glad that you're on the road to recovery and home again! Your little Prairie Dog is adorable - and I really like this fold - it's one I haven't seen before! Thanks so much for sharing it with us this week at The Paper Players! :)
This is adorable....and the inky background is fabulous! So glad you are on the mend!
Well, I think you know what my answer will be, Cindy ~ share away!! I am sorry you had to spend four days in the hospital, especially in this scary time of Covid. I hope they were able to tame the fireworks! As a Crohn's sufferer, I know a little bit about the uncomfortableness (a word?) of digestive troubles.
It certainly didn't impact your card artistry! This card is both beautiful with that pretty blended background and colored images ~ and adorable with that sweet prairie dog! I don't think I've seen a prairie dog wandering around Blogland yet! Can't imagine what took that cute critter so long to make an appearance, unless I've been living under a prairie rock! I hope you are keeping well now and thank you for sharing with everyone at NBUS! Hugs, Darnell
Cindy, I'm sorry it took me so long to get here and I'm super sorry about your illness and hospital stay. You and I did talk, but I also think it's good to share a bit on your blog because it gives your readers a chance to relate a little. Whatever you're comfortable with. Today is a treat for me because I get to see all the stamping you've done since my last visit, and you know how I love the cute stuff! This is such a FUN stamp set! Don't go getting me started, Cindy. I'm trying to catch up with my NBUS. I adore your southwest sunset background and the flap design. Made those in the past quite a lot. Everything old is new again!
I am new to your blog and am scanning past posts. I do appreciate your sharing about what's going on in your life. You are a creative, REAL person sharing your art which is such a part of your life, and inspirational to your followers. But hardships and joys are part too, and if you share, we can support you with words and prayers! I believe in this life we are here for one another, so thanks for sharing. I belong to a quilt club, and even though we don't meet right now because of Covid-19, we have supported one another for years.
