My last name is BEACH

Yes, that's a reminder in case some of you only know my blog name or don't know me at all. Cindy Beach is a great name!
So when I saw the beautiful prompt at Inspired By ...the Sea, I just had to join in!

There were many ideas to jump off from the photo, but I chose the shells and blue tones as I've been wanting to use the Cloche Quarters and Summer Fillers sets from Papertrey Ink.

I was also highly influenced by THIS gorgeous card by Kelly. I loved the way she inked narrow paper strips to form an ombre colored background. I inked the strips in various blues to create this technique. I can't wait to try it again!

Thanks so much for taking the time to visit. I don't usually post on weekends but you know what? I am on a roll with challenges now and I'm loving it!

The more often I create, the easier it gets to create. Right now I'm happy with that, and have given up the notion that every card has to be a knockout. Does that make sense?

Til next time, have a wonderful day!

Celebrate You!

I made a card for a special guy's birthday today with a nautical theme. I have quite a few nautical elements pulled from my stash and enjoyed combining them.

It came together easily using the Sketch from The Paper Players. I kept the colors classic and found the sketch gave a great opportunity to add some striped paper and a metal jewel to enhance the theme.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope your week is winding up well for you.

Birthday Wishes for You

Sketchy flowers in peach and pink with a pale blue and Birthday Wishes for You are the elements featured on  today's card. I began with a white die cut square that has been hanging around on my desk, and layered images from the Fleur Impressions set (The Greetery) that I just love. I got the soft look with layered stamping and sponging Distress Oxide Inks on some of the images.

The floral pattern was stamped on pale blue card stock using the Summer Sketches set and embossed in white, then added to the die cut rectangle. I added a strip of silver foil paper and silver sequins for embellishments.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Sunny Get Well

Watercolored stripes and tulips are a sweet combination. I'm hoping it will brighten someone's day!

Combining the old and the new: retired SU stamp for the tulips and the new Sentiment Suite stamps from The Greetery.

The Greetery Pot-pourri

Hello everyone! How is your week going so far?
Just one more quick post from me this week. I fiddled around with the cute pots and fun plant options in the Pot-Pourri set from The Greetery and this is what I came up with. Betsy's designs are so clever and creating with them is a blast.

I kept the card simple by using a kraft base and a white frame; letting the die cut images steal the show.  I added the tiny tag with a foam mount and a twine bow onto the planter. The sentiment was stamped on white card stock, then inked to match the green pot.

Layered stamping and die cutting with these images is a dream! They are easy to use and leave a very thin border.
Thanks for coming by!

Enjoy your day!

Hello and happy Monday to you!
Breezing by with a quick card that features some of the patterned papers I had set out to use up. Making just a teeny bit of progress but there are way too many hoarded papers left.

I stamped and die cut roses from WPlus9 ( I just LOVE the Rose Builder Stamps) surrounded by vintage floral patterns on the paper layers.

I stamped a bunch of these roses awhile ago so I can't even name the specific inks used, but they are also from WPlus9.
Thanks for spending time with me, I hope you enjoy your day!

CAS Watercolor

Good morning, happy Friday! I saw so many gorgeous samples from the CAS designers and players at the CAS Watercolor challenge that I just had to play along.

On a very hot humid afternoon, pulling out my Zig markers to color a bit was a delight to my senses and my soul. Added a sparkle with WOS.
The challenge was to use a floral bouquet.

I cut slits on either side of the stems to tie silver thread around the bouquet.
That wraps it up for me today. Have a great weekend!
