Hello friends, I hope things are going well for you. I'm continuing to stamp during this heat wave and I'm enjoying a bit of a lull of summer activities.
Do you ever lay awake at night thinking of all the things you didn't like about a card you made that day? Well it doesn't happen often, thankfully I am a very good sleeper! But yesterday's card (see it HERE) had some definite issues. Not a detailed focal point, and too busy with the papers I used. I felt it was out of balance.
Here's the re-make!
I took the same sketch and arranged the papers differently. Even though I like the largest panel of paper best, it really works much better in the background. I pulled out a bear who is happily relaxing and colored him with Copics to be used for my focal point. This time the sentiment was cut right out of the patterned paper. I backed it with card stock and foam tape for a bit of dimension.
What do you think of my card makeover? I'll be entering this again as take 2 at The Paper Players. My stamps are from Penny Black, Special Day.
Thanks for stopping by!

Well, I loved yesterday's card, but now I love this one even more! It has all the woodsy stuff that really appeals to me, including the bear which is too darn cute! Two thumbs up, Cindy, and if I had more thumbs I'd give you those too!
I like them both, Cindy! This little bear might have me smitten though!
I like them both for different reasons. I made a card last year, that I just wasn't happy with. The more I worked at it to find the right balance, the less balance it had. The next day I woke up, and took another look, and it only needed a slight tweak. But because it created such a feeling within me, I still find it to be an "unfavorite" of mine. Fast forward to wintertime...I mailed it to a friend, and she loved it. Thanks for sharing.
I love your little bear, but I thought your other card was wonderful!!! This definitely has a different feel to it, but still sweet and fun!
I loved yesterday's card but I do love this one more - for all the reasons you outlined Cindy. Thanks for playing along with my sketch challenge over at The Paper Players for a second time this week!
Super fun image and great layering.
