Is any one besides me having their days mixed up after our holiday on the 4th? Yesterday felt like Monday to me, my days are all off. Feels like Tuesday today. Turns out any day is a good day to pop in with a project for Make It Monday!
Betsy's Make It Monday #327 is all about Ombre Watercolor Backgrounds. (see her video HERE sharing a fool proof and easy way to make blended backgrounds.)
I've got two cards for you today.
For the first, I blended shades of pink and then washed them with a damp thick brush. After it had dried I used the Stencil Basics: Dots to add tone on tone design.
My second card is clean and simple, using yellows for the background. I added tone on tone stamping with two or three leaf images, and spattered white paint to add texture and detail. Well. I did get a bit carried away with splattering the paint.
For the flowers on both cards, I used the 2108 Anniversary Set: Mixed Bouquet, trimming out the blooms with my scissors.
I will be uploading this soon. Wishing you a fabulous weekend!

Both of your cards are FABULOUS Cindy!! I love how you did your first card horizontal...so simple but really looks cool!! Loving the stenciled dots on that one too! Your 2nd card in all the yellow tones is GORGEOUS and I love all that white ink spattering too! Well done on both of them!! :0)
Very nice interpretations and especially tying your floral elements to the base colors! Beautiful cards!
Very pretty. what a good idea to use a stencil.
Cindy, you took those ombré backgrounds a step further adding your Mixed Bouquets and tone-on-tone stenciling. Beautifully done on both! Looks like the possibilities using this technique are endless.
These are both gorgeous! I like your use of the polka dot stencil. You can't go wrong with polka dots and paired with those pretty bouquets, these are both just darling! I don't have this set. It may be coming home with me on my next shopping binge with PTI. Thanks for enabling and inspiring!!
You did a beautiful job on those backgrounds! I especially love the yellow with the leaves and white splatters, but I dearly love polka dots, too, and pink. Gosh, they're both so pretty!
