Wonderful Woodland Friend

I couldn't resist a second take on the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch #236!
I wanted a more truly CAS card so the layout was more literal, although I placed my focal point on the left side. I loved THIS card by Chrissy, but all the DT projects were inspiring!

Keeping the cards simple means more cards to send to hospitalized kids. Having the sketch in mind from my earlier post really helped this card come together.

I'm so glad you popped by to visit my blog today!

Southern Summer Florals

I'm wanting summer to stick around for just a bit longer. As soon as I make a fall card I realize that Christmas will be just around the corner, and before we know it will have come and gone!

The Southern Summer Florals sets 1 and 2 from WPlus9 were added to my stash recently. I couldn't wait to ink them up and arrange my own bouquet.

I think these blooms will be beautiful in many colors but of course I had to make them first in pink to match some patterned paper that's been around forever in my stash.
I love the beautiful Scripture sentiment from Verve stamps.

Keeping this clean and simple for the CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge #236
Thanks for coming by my blog to take a peek today! Thanks for your comments too.

Boys and Bots

Has anyone been watching AGT this season?  There's a boy named Merrick Hanna who dances with moves like a robot and he is so talented! I love watching his dancing because he tells a story and every motion is part of the story. I'm happy that he made it to the finals.

I'm hoping some of the boys who are hospitalized will like this card I made with the Bionic Bots stamp set and dies from My Favorite Things (retired).  These robots don't move but they do shine.

I colored them with Copics  and added die cut hearts to the card. Wink of Stella adds shimmer to their faces and I used clear and ebony Nuvo drops to accent the hearts and their eyes. I heat embossed the sentiment with Pewter embossing powder.

I'm adding this to the sketch challenge at My Favorite Things.
Thanks so much for your visit today.

Friends Furever

Hello there!
I'm staying cool inside while the heat and humidity are making it miserable out this afternoon. Happy to get a little stamping in. My furever friend, our beagle Josie is snuggled up at my feet.

Today's card will be heading off with my contributions to Cards for Hospitalized Kids. I loved these cute critters and colored them in with Copic markers, adding highlights with a white gel pen. Thinking this will make a child smile delights me today!

The background was sponged with Tattered Rose and Scattered Straw Distress Inks.

Shakers are always fun to get! I added metallic hearts, sequins and a few seed beads inside. Also spattered a bit of ink droplets there. Have a great day!

Stitched Summer Blooms

Welcome to my first post here on the new blog! I found that I really missed having a place to share my creations and I love having you come to visit! I've gotten in the habit of always having something to color on hand and these stitched roses that have been on my desk make an impact on today's card.

I'm playing along with this week's CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge.

I cut strips of white card stock for my design, and heat embossed the sentiment in white. My decision to use Coastal Cabana card stock for the base came after trying a few other colors because I was going for a clean, crisp look but unfortunately, the photo doesn't capture that.

Hope you have a great day!
