Vintage Birthday

Hi there!
I wondered whether to title this Vintage Birthday? Masculine Birthday? or Old -Timer Birthday? Ha! It really is all three.

I'm glad to have it ready and made in a jiffy using the vintage papers from Graphic 45. They are vintage style and they've been on my shelves for a LONG time too.
I paired them with a sentiment and a sketch.
The Freshly Made designers come up with the best sketches!

The stamps are Autumn Leaves from WPLus9 and Papertrey's Just A Number set. I embossed the numbers in gold, but that doesn't quite show up in the photo. I bought the set for just this kind of card, where the numbers are needed to highlight the special number of years of the occasion.

Hope you've enjoyed coming by today. Thanks for stopping by.

Let's Make Memories - Christmas Eve

Hello, friends!
You're here just in time to catch my first Christmas card of the season. I held off as long as I could but over the weekend I had to get the lovely Christmas Eve stamps from The Greetery inked and onto paper.

I experimented with different colors for the background, and I like this night sky scene best. I used Distress Oxide inks for the sky in Tumbled Glass, Blueprint Sketch, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot. For all other inking I used Altenew inks.  The trees are from the stamp that comes with the set, I changed the size by a bit of masking.

I love having images so reminiscent of going to Christmas Eve mass as a girl with my family, and the meaningful sentiments that the set comes with. I ended up combining sentiments from the Sentiment Suite Christmas set and the With Love at Christmas set. It's great how well these products work together.
Hope this brings a smile to your face today. Thanks for visiting!

Autumn Birthday with The Greetery

It's Monday, saying a happy hello to you!
Some snippets of time and leftovers from past projects came together for today's card featuring products from The Greetery.
I had an extra inked panel left over from this card (click HERE to see it) and decided to add texture with stencil paste. Just to play around.

I liked the effect so much that I went looking for other images to make it into a card. The detail on the wheat seemed similar to the V in the stencil. I really am loving the Budding Beauties stamp set!

I was also inspired by Color Throwdown and Freshly Made Sketches to play along.

I will list all the products below. The inks used were Distress Oxides. Thanks for visiting!

Cozy with Cotton Comfort

Hello to all my crafty friends. This week flew by but I finally got some time to stamp.

My new order arrived from The Greetery! You know I love the products, but have I told you that Betsy's shipping and customer service is fantastic?

Of course the Christmas goodies are exciting but before I get to them I wanted to ink up the Budding Beauties stamps and combine the berry sprigs with the branches from the Cotton Comforts set.

All images were stamped with Distress Oxide inks and die cut. I arranged them on a panel of white card stock that I sponged with Antique Linen, and Fossilized Amber Abandoned Coral inks.

The panel measures 5" x 3-3/4" and was adhered to a white card stock base. The images were added on foam tape for dimension. I love how easily they lined up for each layer of stamping. I used a small sponge dauber to ink them, even adding a bit of ink to the cotton puffs without the stamp.

I hope to make a few more cards before I bring out the Christmas stamps, so please bear with me. I'm so glad the you could visit today. Enjoy your afternoon!

Just for Fun: A Makeover

I hope your Saturday is in full swing and going well.
I got some time to stamp today. I kept thinking about yesterday's card (posted HERE). My photo made it look dark, and my mind read that as muddy. So I set out to make it over today. Just for fun!

Adding the white circular die cut, a white embossed sentiment, and using less leaves lightened up the overall look. Instead of using blended Oxide inks, which have muted chalky hues - I watercolored the leaves, using my Gansai Tambi paints. I also added a very few ink spatters to the card front.

I am MUCH more pleased with this one. Also, the photo. Thanks to the Color Throwdown for these great colors!

Thank you for visiting today. Tell me which card you like best? Gently, please.....

Distress Oxides in Autumn Shades

Hello, hi there!
I could hardly bring myself to craft for fall as we are having a drought and unprecedented heat wave right now. I'm not even able to think about Christmas cards and it's already October!

But I managed to craft as it's too hot to go outside! Fortunately I've seen some COOL alternative color combos for fall lately. Lavender leaves, anyone?

I did some Distress Oxide ink blending using lavender, purple, orange, and green on white Bristol Smooth card stock. Then I stamped leaves on the inked piece and embossed them in gold, and die cut them.

These were the colors at Color Throwdown for this week, I'm playing along. I did get a bit of green in there.

I ended with a few sequins, a banner-ed sentiment and random splashes of watercolor. I hope you have a wonderful day and I'm so glad that you came by!

Just a Little Bit Country

Hello, welcome and come on in!
Imagine that I'm inviting you into my cozy English Country kitchen to show you a few of my favorite things. Make yourself comfy with a cup of tea or coffee and feel right at home.

Then you'll get a sense of how I was feeling inspired as I made this card. My kitchen did used to have these colors that I love.

A few of my favorites are the yellow and blue combo, birds, tea cups, florals and geometrics.

I stamped the trellis background stamp (WPlus9 Tropic Fever) in Salty Ocean Distress Ink. The floral cluster was stamped to create a tone on tone background on the yellow panel. The images from Hello and Thanks (WPlus9) were colored with Copics and die cut and layered on a hexagon die cut.

This photo from The Card Concept inspired me to use the florals, blues and cottage theme in my clean and layered card.

I am also playing along at the Fusion Card Challengefollowing the theme and the sketch.

and adding one more to Simons Says Stamp: Anything Goes
I've enjoyed your visit! Thanks for spending time with me today, hope your day is wonderful.
