More Merry and Bright

Hey there!
Hope you are doing well today.
I realized that this is the only week I have to finish making Cards for Hospitalized Kids if I want them to arrive in time for Christmas. And I do!
I can't get enough of the cute images from the Merry and Bright set from Simon Says! I created a scene using Distress Inks to make a background and masking the reindeer.
I spritzed the background with water and added die cut snowflakes and a little glitz from my Wink of Stella pen.

Once I had all the supplies out, it was easy to create a few of these using the Misti for stamping.

I love coloring, but that was enough for me for one day. I only wish my photo did the colors justice. I have trouble photographing blends well, they are either too washed out or too deeply contrasted.

That's enough rambling from me. Thanks to you for coming by to visit!

I will be adding this to the Challenge at SSS called Furry Friends and Happy Little Stampers CAS Challenge Christmas.

It's Fall Jump for Joy with Lawnfawn

Oh my goodness, when I saw the Jump for Joy set from Lawnfawn I just couldn't resist these adorable foxes and the other woodland animals included.

I find that sending cards to hospitalized children enables me to add whimsical stamps to my stash which are so fun to create with. Ahhh, er---just sayin' that I happen to like them too!

I'm mass producing these so I stamped and die cut a bunch of the images and color them with Copics when I have a few moments of time.

Works out well that I can play along with the talented crew at the Color Throwdown. The tree is die cut of Kraft card stock and sponged with brown inks.

Hope it's a happy day for you! Thanks so much for popping by to visit.

Repeated Shapes for Christmas

Good morning!
It's another card inspired by the Online Card Class Merry Making. I love a challenge and this class has given me some chances to try new ideas and make them my own. While doing it, my Christmas card stash is growing every day!

I love that result. Todays' card uses a simple idea of repeating shapes in non-traditional Christmas colors.

I "kissed" the stamp with ink to get the stripes and trees patterns and made it more festive with gold embossing and sequins in shades of pink.

I'm so glad you could join me today.

CAS(E) This Sketch 243

Hi everyone,
I hope you're at the beginning of a very good week!

It's a rainy day here but that means cooler weather which will be wonderful tomorrow when the sun is expected to return.

We spent a wonderful day with family yesterday so I'm happy to be having a catch up day today.

Posting a card I made over the weekend to play along with the gang at CAS(E) This Sketch 243

I thought the Happy Pandas stamp from MFT would be perfect for this sketch design. The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp Uplifting Thoughts.

I'm honored that my card from last week was posted as a CTS Favorite and you can see it HERE

Hopefully this card will spread some smiles to the child who receives it.

I'm so glad you stopped by today!

Keeping It Simple

Hello there! I'm sharing a clean and simple card with you today using the Polar Bear Pals from MFT.  This set came out a couple years ago and I bought it last winter after seeing so many cute cards with it!

I just love choosing different colors for the scarf and using Copic markers to color the image. I began by sponging a background lightly with Broken China Distress Ink.

I added details to the scarf with a white signo gel pen, and shimmer to the bear's body with Wink of Stella. A black marker to dot the eyes helps them to stand out. I topped the bear's nose with a Nuvo drop in Ebony.

The hearts were die cut and colored with Copics and Clear Glossy Accents. The sentiment inside will say, "You Make my Heart Happy."

I'm entering this into the Superstar Challenge at My Favorite Things for the Clean and Simple category.

Have a great weekend! I am looking forward to the sunny days ahead.

Reach for the Stars

Hello!
I'm back today with a card to share that I made over the weekend.

While our hearts were filled with concern for those affected by Hurricanes Irma and Harvey, I found therapy in playing with paper and doing some coloring. The Little Dreamer set from WPlus9 had me imagining clear skies and happy days ahead and the sentiment is perfect for a hospitalized child or teen. One more card for my stash to send.

I used the coordinating dies and colored the cute images with Copic Markers, adding shimmer with a pen to their faces and to the clouds. I couldn't wait to use my Nuvo Embellishment Mousse in Aquamarine for the sky, and the Lemon Sorbet for the star. I used a damp watercolor brush to swish it on the Ranger watercolor paper.

I'm playing along with Cas(E) this Sketch #238.

And guess what! My card last week was chosen as a favorite! You can find it here.
I am so honored to share this badge. I love playing with the sketches.
Thanks for joining me today!

Happy Autumn

Hello, stamper friends!
Hopefully you are enjoying a long weekend filled with pleasant activities.

I really like playing along with the challenges at CAS(E) this Sketch. I love jump starting my projects with the sketches and the weekly inspiration from the design team. Some of those gals are my favorite stampers!

Imagine my pleasant surprise to find that THIS card of mine was chosen as a favorite this week. Makes me want to play along again, right?

That's what I did.

The sketch had lines fanning out on either side of the sentiment.

I went looking for some graphic stamps with a basic shape and found these leaves from Papertrey Ink's Stylized Autumn set. I stamped them on white card stock, masking as needed to save room for the greeting.

I got excited with the look when I found this wonky Be Happy die to use for the sentiment. The negative of the die cut served as a guide for lining up the letters. I also stamped and die cut the flowers and popped them on foam dots for dimension.

On the inside I stamped the words, Be Strong.

I'm so glad you popped by to visit my blog today!
