Sweet Wishes with Merry Mug

Hello on this Saturday night!
Although it's not when I usually post, it's not too late to join in with the Create Along with Us Challenge at PTI.  We've been inspired with so many fabulous holiday projects for the new release and I just couldn't resist getting out some goodies to play along.

I just fell in love with this card by Betsy and especially her color combo of Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, Berry Sorbet and Navy.

I was also itching to use my snowflakes stencil from the Fairytale Christmas Kit on a sponged background.

I sponged using Distress Oxide inks adding Embossing paste with glitter over the stencil.

How about incorporating that snowflake pattern onto the cute striped cup from the Merry Mug set? I think it worked to pull to whole design together.

Can you tell I had a blast making my card? And it will be so sweet for that special someone. As for the pink sequins, they are my favorite!
Hope you're having wonderful weekend, Thanks so much for coming by!

Create Along with Us: Lilies of the Field

Hello! Welcome back to my blog!

I love the invitation at PTI to Create Along With Us each month.

After the designers have showcased the new products we're invited to CASE their projects and create one of our own, spinning off from one of their designs. This month it was very hard to select just one favorite project from all the beautiful samples.

I chose this gorgeous card from Laurie to CASE. I always want to case what she makes!

I was inspired by the clean colors, crisp style, delicate embossing and layout of her lovely card. I CASE(D) the layout. My own card uses the Lilies of the Field stamp set, and changed the color palette.

Of course I wanted to use my Bitty Background papers and so far my choices are limited to two colors. LOVE those polka dots!

I combined the sentiment from the new Penned Elegance stamp set with a small sentiment line from the Scripted Sayings set. I see so many possibilities for using these elegant sentiments in a bold font.

I used a die to dry emboss the corners of the white panel. It came with the Gemini Jr. from Crafter's Companion that arrived at the post office for me today. Love my new toy! Wheee!

Thanks for visiting!

Your Special Day

Hello!  Hope you're having a good weekend in spite of the cold, flu and well, other news.

It's time to jump in at the very end of the challenge with Papertrey Ink with today's card.
I've been wanting to make a feminine card with all the things I love: flowers, soft pastels, ribbon, lots of layers and vellum. Sequins! Yes, don't forget sequins!

I was inspired by this gorgeous card from the amazing Melissa Philips.

Searching for soft subtle patterns, I used DSP from my stash (Authentique). I stamped flowers from the Vintage Linen set using inks in Autumn Rose and Lavender Moon, adding details with a white gel pen and a shimmer pen. I wanted the stem and leaves to blend in, so I colored them a pale gray with Copics. Like Melissa, I chose a scalloped die cut border, a vellum tag embellished with a ribbon bow
and... you got it!
Sequins.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today.

Fresh Bouquets and Butterflies

Hello everyone!
I'm sure you've been as busy and can relate to the overfull days and hectic hours of the holiday preparations that have been going on around here. Craziness!

I was challenged by Laurie's terrific Faux Stained Glass technique at Make It Monday and had to sneak in a few minutes to give this a try.

A card with airy colors and the freshness of spring. Ahhh! I needed that break.

I used the PTI Bitty Butterflies Cover Plate Die for the background. I colored the vellum using Distress Inks in Broken China and Shaded Lilac. For the focal point, I cut a butterfly from the PTI Butterflies Cover Plate Die, and trimmed out one of the butterflies with scissors. I cut it from white card stock and blended ink to color it. Afterwards I added droplets of the ink, splattered, and a few spritzes of Perfect Pearls added to water for texture and shine.

Wrapping a bit of tulle (with a teeny bit of glitter in it) behind the butterfly and adding sequins made me happy!
I used stamps from the Fresh Bouquet set.
Hope this finds you thinking that, whatever is going on, "You've got this!"

Papertrey Ink Blog Hop Inspiration

Hello friends,
Hope you are having a lovely holiday weekend!
My times with family have been such a blessing and we've had lots of fun visiting and lovely weather.
I actually made this card last week so that I could be ready for the blog hop.

Our inspiration photo contains beautiful elements of autumn. I was inspired by the greens gathered around the gold word in the centerpiece and the lovely creams of the table settings.

I used the Year of Psalms February Mini Stamp Set, and embossed it in gold on vanilla card stock. The floral background images are Gathered Garden Stamp Set. I added a gold embossed image accent among the leaves and berries.

I hope you've been inspired by my card today. Much thanks for your visits and kind comments!

Sparkly Warm Wishes

Hi stamping friends,
I had a bit of time to relax in my stamp room on this sunny breezy Saturday afternoon. It's a day just perfect for sitting on the screened in back porch to edit photos and type this post. I'm surrounded by fall colors, the sounds of crickets. Feeling thankful and cozy in my hoodie.

I'm happy to share another Christmas card!
This time joining in with Papertrey Ink after their new release.

The new products and samples from the DT were amazing! The card that caught my eye was this beautiful design by Michelle Leone

I admired the classic lines of her card, the layers of papers and plaid to create texture, and a sparkling die cut focal point.

I knew that I'd need to come up with different dies and colors using what I had on hand.

I'm pretty pleased with the result and it's great having one more card done that will be easy to mail too.
Hope you are having a good good day.

Special Blog Hop for Dawn McVey

Hello and welcome to my blog!

A special blog hop sponsored by Papertrey Ink is underway for Dawn McVey, who has been a huge influence to many in the crafting world with her beautiful designs and joyful spirit. Dawn has undergone a small intestine transplant after suffering with medical difficulties for years. I invite you to visit the hop HERE to read Dawn's story.
I've loved following Dawn's blog for years and have been so inspired by her work and journey. Here's the get well card that I made for her using the stamp set that she designed called Floral Sketches

I stamped the design onto white card stock and afterwards die cut the word "prayers" from the panel and popped it up with foam tape.

You can see the depth it adds in this close up.

After glueing it down, I covered the sentiment die cut with lots of Wink of Stella and added an outline with the white gel pen to make the word stand out a bit more.

I kept my card clean and simple so that I could play along with my favorite challenge CTS #246.

I'm so glad you came by today, hope the day you're having is fabulous!

Fa La La La La

Good morning! It's a delightfully chilly day here so I feel like  jumping in with another fun card for Christmas. I'm using the very new set from Papertrey Ink called Sing A Song of Christmas. The images contain the words to several carols. I love Christmas music so much! In fact I keep the snowman clock on the wall all year long in my craft room, and it plays a carol every hour on the hour.

Fa La La La La.

I'm playing along with CAS(E) This Sketch today. I love the way their sketches kick off my mojo, so I've made up my mind to participate every week.

I was so happy to be chosen as a CTS Favorite with this card

Hope your day is wonderful and that you have a song in your heart. I am so glad to have you stop by!

Christmas Blessings

Hello there!

I'm posting another Christmas card today. This technique, presented by Jennifer McGuire at class, incorporates scoring into your stamped design.  I couldn't wait to try this one out.

It's perfect for a bold, detailed image, and for creating a classic card that's flat for mailing.

Several of my images were masked for this design. This would be a great choice for mass producing with my MISTI.

Although tempted, I refrained from adding glitter, gold, or sparkles in any form. Just letting the clean design speak. I've listed my supplies below.

Thanks for coming by to take a peek!

Happy Autumn

Hello, stamper friends!
Hopefully you are enjoying a long weekend filled with pleasant activities.

I really like playing along with the challenges at CAS(E) this Sketch. I love jump starting my projects with the sketches and the weekly inspiration from the design team. Some of those gals are my favorite stampers!

Imagine my pleasant surprise to find that THIS card of mine was chosen as a favorite this week. Makes me want to play along again, right?

That's what I did.

The sketch had lines fanning out on either side of the sentiment.

I went looking for some graphic stamps with a basic shape and found these leaves from Papertrey Ink's Stylized Autumn set. I stamped them on white card stock, masking as needed to save room for the greeting.

I got excited with the look when I found this wonky Be Happy die to use for the sentiment. The negative of the die cut served as a guide for lining up the letters. I also stamped and die cut the flowers and popped them on foam dots for dimension.

On the inside I stamped the words, Be Strong.

I'm so glad you popped by to visit my blog today!
