Jump for Joy for The Paper Players

Are you ready for a theme challenge for The Paper Players #607? You're here just in time for some Fall Fun!

What could be more fun than jumping into a pile of leaves? Just for the joy of it! I added a die cut cover to a white card base, and topped it with a tag sporting a cute critter.

He is a squirrel but I used Copics to color him in foxy colors.

I can't wait to see what you will create. Have fun doing it! Thanks so much for your visit today.

It's Fall Jump for Joy with Lawnfawn

Oh my goodness, when I saw the Jump for Joy set from Lawnfawn I just couldn't resist these adorable foxes and the other woodland animals included.

I find that sending cards to hospitalized children enables me to add whimsical stamps to my stash which are so fun to create with. Ahhh, er---just sayin' that I happen to like them too!

I'm mass producing these so I stamped and die cut a bunch of the images and color them with Copics when I have a few moments of time.

Works out well that I can play along with the talented crew at the Color Throwdown. The tree is die cut of Kraft card stock and sponged with brown inks.

Hope it's a happy day for you! Thanks so much for popping by to visit.

Autumn Elegance

Good morning! Are you ready for a new week?

I'm taking a break from making kid's cards for a little while. The last few posts when I've made holiday cards have given me a chance to remember some of my favorite styles besides whimsical and CAS.

For today's autumn card I wanted to go for layers and elegance. I began by getting inky creating with Distress Oxide Inks.

Using watercolor paper, I loosely painted these three colors onto a panel. I dried it and repeated this process until I got the look I wanted, ending by flicking some of the colors onto the paper and also flicking a few spatters of water onto the design.

I stamped the leaf outlines over this background in Fired Brick and Peeled Paint Oxide Inks and then die cut the leaves. The photo above shows the leaves close up and is closest in color to how they really look. All the images came from the same sheet of paper that I colored even though they look like they are different colors.

After die cutting the images I used my Copic markers to add details and shading.

Having texture and details in the images, I wanted to add more layers and texture to the card. I embossed Very Vanilla card stock with a leafy design and layered it onto a card base with a layer of fun foam behind it. The tag was stamped, and heat embossed in gold. A few flicks of spattered gold paint tie in that element.

Finally, I wrapped it all up with a Kraft silky Seam Binding bow.

Here's a look at the markers I got out, although I didn't use them all .

Hope you've enjoyed my card today!

A New Sketch A New Day

Hi and happy Saturday!
Hope you are out enjoying some time in the sun. My husband just returned from a beautiful time on the lake in his kayak.

My pain is up and my energy is very low today so Josie and I kept company here at the house. It's days like this that make me especially grateful I can stamp because making a card gives me a feeling of accomplishment in spite of having a rare disease that is sometimes chronic.
So does having pot roast in the crockpot. Alas, I digress.

When I first saw the sketch I was puzzled about how to make a card that didn't look a bit off balance or as if it was contrived to work with the layout. When I found this scrap with the sentiment in my stash I decided it had to be used and today was the day.

Keep your face towards the sunlight. Encouraging advice that I needed to hear today.

I'm pretty happy with the way this turned out. It was quick to make using supplies from past card kits. No stamping.

That's it from me for today. Glad you came by!

Autumn Leaves

We are enjoying cooler fall weather today and I thought I'd get a head start on making a card for Thanksgiving.

I pulled out the Autumn Leaves set from Wplu9 and after stamping the images in black, I sponged and blended shades of Distress Inks to fill in the color.

I arranged the die cut shapes and tucked them around and behind the panel. The sentiment was also die cut of gold foil and added to the panel with a trio of gold sequins. Adding the black twine bow finished off the focal point.

I'm playing along at CAS(E) this Sketch #240 today. That's it from me, hope you have a great day!

Time for Pumpkins

I'm popping in with my first fall card and I'm delighted to have all the windows open as it's COOL today and the breezes are wafting in.

Now to more of the story. The oven is putting out those nasty fumes from the self cleaning cycle. Banished to the craft room? Yes I am, and loving it!

Hope you're having a great day.
I'd made a blended background panel using Distress Inks in yellow, green and aqua and the piece was on my table just waiting to become the focal point for this card.

I stamped and die cut these adorable images from the BB Harvest Mouse set and colored them using Copic markers.

I stamped the sentiment and layered the images on the distressed panel. I added some interest with a white gel pen, Wink of Stella and a few Nuvo drops.

My inspiration was the MFT Sketch Challenge
I'm also playing with the beautiful inspiration from The Heart Desires Challenge 16.
My reason for posting is YOU!
