Hey there, Panda!

Hello, friends! I tried out other titles for this post. Happy Panda. Hungry panda. Somehow the name of this set from Altenew didn't seem to work, it's Roaming Pandas. This guy is munching the day away.

I've had this bundle of stamps, dies, EF and stencils in my stash but they've not been used until today!

I was inspired to use these for The Color Hues Challenge (Yellow and green)
The Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - Cute Critters
The Double D Challenge - for the Kiddos.
And of course, with Never Been Used Schtuff for the NBUS challenge.
That's a quick post for me today, enjoy your weekend!

Color Hues Challenge #86

Here we go on this happy first day of May with a new challenge at Color Hues!  Our duo of Lilac and Lime comes from Julie, and we want you to play along with this sweet pairing.

I have a sweet little grand with a birthday coming up, so I came up with a card for her. She loves pandas!

I found this set from Altenew (Roaming Pandas) that's been around awhile. I thought it would make great guy cards. Instead, I loved putting a girly twist on it for her, have a look!

The Immense LOVE die from Penny Black makes a great spot for this big guy to sit. I rummaged through my stash to find a hat and also die cut a heart for the birthday theme.

Please be sure to check the inspiration found at the challenge blog. We'd love to have you play along! Thanks for taking the time to visit me today. I always appreciate you stopping by.

Color Hues #82 Turquoise and Green

Hello, we're ready to go with Color Hues #82 on this first day of the month. Seriously! How can it be March?

We have summery colors of Turquoise and Green which Tracey has chosen for us to create with. There are lots of themes possible for this one!

I've been looking to add some cards for guys to my stash, or at least some cards that aren't all flowers. The Monstera dies from Altenew were on sale recently and I made a purchase. Pulling them out of my never-been-used-pile for today's card.

I began by using tone on tone inking in an ombre pattern with the Sketched Lines stencil - also new.  I think it provided just the right interest for the crisp colors of card stock.

The layering dies add wonderful dimension too.

I loved using these hues, and wait until you see the DT samples. How about your turn? We hope you'll play along with us at Color Hues!
Thanks for visiting today. I will see you again soon!

Good Things Take Time

Good things do take time.  The arrival of spring, the growth of a flower, the struggle of an emerging butterfly, a sunset after rain. It's a new challenge at Color Hues #62 and I chose Purple and Green for our projects this fortnight. Even though Easter is over, there are lots of ways to use these shades.

I had summery vibes in mind and so out came the butterflies!

Choosing two patterns of paper from Waffle Flower, I used the pale green dotted piece as a background, and the purple inside the butterflies. The beautiful layering dies are by Bibi Cameron for Spellbinders, as are the sentiment and border panel.

As always, you'll find wonderful inspiration at the Color Hues blog, and we hope to see what you make as you play along.

Thanks for joining me today!

Gratitude Color Hues #61

Hello friends! Welcome to our new challenge at Color Hues! For April our dear Stef has chosen Peach and Kraft for us to use.  I chose floral stamps and stamped them in warm brown ink,  colored with Copics, then fussy cut them out.

I wanted the sentiment (Penny Black - Smile) to be the focal point on my card because I love the message and the pretty fonts. Using the dies I cut and framed a diamond shape and matted it with kraft card stock.

To dress it up even more, I added a 3D embossed panel (SSS - Magnolia Branches) and a few flat gold sequins.

Our wonderful challenge participants fill our gallery with beautiful cards and clever designs. I can't wait to see what you will make! Just have fun.

Special Day for Color Hues

Hello, welcome to my blog today! A new month means a new challenge at Color Hues! Carol has chosen Green and Gold for us to use, and it's full of possibilities as you will see in the wonderful DT samples. Of course there's the Luck O' the Irish option which also first came to my mind, however, I went a different direction. I have a friend who loves green so I set out to make a birthday card for her.

I thought peonies in white with deep green leaves would pair up well. Actually, I was mistakenly picturing magnolias but the flowers can be whatever colors I make them, right?   I began by using the Peonies Hot Foil Plate by Spellbinders with Gold foil for the floral focal point. Adding accents with Copic markers in greens and gold brought out the details. I layered white card stock and gold designer paper panels cut into deckle edged rectangles, cut the floral spray out and adhered it on top.

The card base is covered with paper from Altenew in ombre shades of green. It has a lovely shimmer to it, easier to see in real life. A strip of deeply embossed white card stock patterned with blooms adorns the side of the card.  A bit of twine and a black sentiment with gold foiling finish it off.

I can't wait to see what you will create with these colors! The most important thing is to have fun as you go.

The Color Hues #45 with Altenew Fragrant Florals

Hello, hope you're having a happy Saturday. After a few cards without florals, I think it's time to bring some flowers back! I'm using my new  Craft Your Life Fragrant Florals Kit from Altenew, and it has endless possibilities which I hope to explore in future posts.

Today's card features our challenge at The Color Hues to use Peach and Gray. I stamped the image in dark gray ink, and used the layering stencils to sponge in warm gray and peachy hues with a hint of coral. I made the berries a bit darker and added shine and detail with a dab of Glossy Accents.

A simple card with sweet colors! I hope you will check out all the fab DT cards for inspiration and join us!

I will be entering this card at NBUS - never been used Schtuff, where we're encouraged to use what we buy!

Playing at Spring Card Camp!

Greetings! I am dropping in with a quick post to share a fun project. I love playing with my supplies and the Online Card Classes Spring Card Camp 2022 is giving me a perfect chance. I love these classes and have taken almost ALL of them!

The lessons, great samples and new techniques or even old ones revisited - get me to see my supplies with fresh vision. Every card doesn't have to be a masterpiece, you know?

While this card turned out way too busy for me - I  created a birthday card with a nautical theme for someone who will love it.

Using layered dies for a background isn't as hard as it looks! Supplies are listed below, and you will see how I have different companies in the mix.

I am adding this to our challenge gallery at Color Hues where I chose Red and Aqua for our combo this time. These are go-to's in my book for a nautical scene. I will be back soon, happy day!

Thinking of You for Color Hues #40

Hi friends! Glad to have you back to my blog today, and welcome! It's time for a new challenge at Color Hues! How does blue and tan sound to you? I made this card in advance, and since then I've thought of lots of other ideas. At the time I was stumped, and somehow this idea came to me while sitting at the kitchen table.

Can you see it? Trying to avoid fancy florals I used stamps and dies  from the Greetery and combined them with a couple patterned papers in my stash. What will you make to inspire us?

I kept the design simple and used the textured die cuts to assemble my plants on. Using watercolor paper on the rough side to die cut the plant pots added more texture. This card is a mini slim line and I learned how to make a matching envelope for it at Roseanne's delightful  tutorial HERE.

Having an envelope makes it much more likely that this card will get mailed. That's it for me today. Thanks for coming by!

Color Hues #26 Purple and Pink

Here is my second post today, welcome! I love pink, but purple? Not a fan. Putting these two together was a tough one for me, but I know there will be amazing samples in the galleries at Color Hues

I went with patterned paper for a background, and some glitzy snowflakes. In my stash I found some purple mirror paper.

The height of my creative ideas came with coloring pearls with my Copic markers for embellishments.

I like how the card turned out, but getting a good photo was tough. What do I love? The sentiment! Inside it says, "Just like the snowflake, you are one of a kind."

Sending you warm wishes today! Thanks for visiting. Hope you will play along with our challenge.

Color Hues - Turquoise and Coral

Such a wonderful combo for one last summer card!

The Starfish Wishes stamps were still out on my desk so I went with an under-the-sea scene. I stamped the images in soft brown and intended to use my Zig markers to color. While that worked well with the plants, I couldn't seem to get a good coral shade.  Using colored pencils on the starfish enabled me to layer colors until I achieved just the hues I wanted and a bit of soft texture.

I added some gold stars and a few Nuvo Drops dots and white gel pen accents. I hope you will check out the amazing work of the DT and join us at Color Hues!

Now that I think about it - I can't promise that is my last card for summer, lol! There are some weeks left officially, right? And it is still plenty HOT here!

Stay well, friends.

Sweet Baby Hello for Color Hues

It's time for a new month and a new challenge at Color Hues! After having a break from some of my challenges, I feel so ready to jump into crafty action.

Hannelie has picked wonderful colors for us to use, yellow and pink. Sounds sweet and summery, and I thought perfect for a baby theme. I went looking for baby stamps and discovered I don't have any!

The onesie dies from Stampin Up! looked cute and I combined them with the BIG "Hello" stamps and dies from Waffle Flower. Papers are from my stash, I just love polka dots and stripes together.

I can't wait to see what inspires you! Be sure to check out the ideas from the rest of the team and join us!

Can you believe that we are in August already? It seems like we were just happy about July coming. I hope you are staying well. Glad to have you visit!

Flora and Fauna 3 for Color Hues

Hello and I am sure glad to be back from my short break. Glad you are back too! I hope things are going well for you.

It was my turn to pick our combo for Color Hues, and I invite you to check them out on the blog and play along!

Lime Green and Aqua can be bold and vibrant or pastel-y and summery. Which do you prefer? When I picked these shades I had bold in mind, but the pretty butterflies in the Flora and Fauna 3 stamps (new from WPlus9) were really fun to do using light sponging.

My slimline card measures 3-1/4 by 8-1/4". Images were stamped in light gray ink, and the sentiment was embossed in white on Basic Gray card stock. I added a few gems for sparkle.

I can't wait to see your projects in the gallery. Thanks so very much, I appreciate you stopping by. Hope you're having a great summer!

Color Hues Pink and Green

Pink + Green + Flowers = Perfection to me. So happy to have these gorgeous hues to play with at Color Hues Challenge #15 today! This is my second post today, so scroll down if you missed the first. I love sentiments that are general and for encouragement like the one I used here. Just Because is also the name of this set from Pinkfresh Studio.

I have seen so many ways to color this floral swag and it always looks pretty! I decided to use Copics but I set out for more of a two-toned look instead of well blended blooms. The layers of color were softened by a pale shaded outline in pink. I didn't think there was any need for embellishments but I did use a layer of foam behind the panel.

There are so many ways to interpret our colors this time, as you will see from the DT inspiration. I can't wait to see how you use the combo. We are happy to have so many of you joining our gallery!

I will also enter this at NBUS as it's the first time I've used this stamp.

For those who celebrate Easter, I hope that you will rejoice in the Risen Lord and have a wonderful day.
