Be Inspired for The Flower Challenge

Hello, how are things going for you?  For me, it's going to be a busy month for challenge posts, and I'm here to share the new one at The Flower Challenge #94. We'd like you to be inspired by these colors when you create your card featuring flowers. Aren't they beautiful hues? You may also add neutrals.

I chose to use supplies from The Greetery and Altenew to create this Anniversary card. The supplies are listed at the end of this post.

The bulk of the flowers are done using the Floral Arches stencils. Details are added with the accompanying stamps. The Arched Sentiment set of stamps and dies provide the greeting. Finally, the A2 arches die cut the sentiment panel. You can find out about all of these elements HERE

We hope that you will be encouraged to join us in the challenge! Thank you for your visit today, let's do this again soon!

The Flower Challenge #92 Use Our Sketch featuring Altenew

Have you ever taken an Altenew Retreat? My first event was the Secret Garden Retreat in early spring. This project is my own, featuring the exclusive supplies we received and worked with during the retreat. I highly recommend these products (some are not yet on the market) and the retreat!

We had several new inks to use and the gorgeous colors blended beautifully. Embossing folders, stencils and specialty card stocks and dies, plus fabulous teachers. End of my hearty endorsement, lol!

Here is my card.

I blended yellow and rose inks for the flowers. Yellow and teal inks for the embossed vining leaves, using a stencil.  The sentiment was die cut from silver glimmer paper and inked with teal. I added matte gold card stock as a border and for the embossed leaf die cuts.

The beautiful sketch comes from The Flower Challenge and this will be our request all month long! We'd love for you to fill our gallery with floral cards floral cards using the sketch.

It is unique and the simplicity allows for many variations. I can't wait to see what you will make! As always, our DT has provided wonderful inspiration. Please be sure to check it out!

Thanks for spending a bit of time with me today, it is always a delight to see you again!

Inspired By.... Wrap Me Up in Spring

Hi friends, happy Thursday!

We have another wonderful spring theme and challenge for you today at Inspired By!  I am loving all florals right now, especially those images I can paint with watercolors.

That is exactly what I did for today's card. I was inspired by the colors in the photo, and the texture in the tissue wrap. The designer paper added a linen texture, and I used an oval dressed up with a die. The bouquet was  stamped on water color paper, colored and die cut.

Of course, I had to wrap the blooms in a ribbon bow.

What will inspire you this week? I hope your days will be wrapped in smiles and a happy heart.

You will be WOWed by the gorgeous samples of our team. Thanks so much for coming by!

Congrats card with Derwent Inktense

Good Tuesday to you!
I've been wanting to do something that feels "normal" today. You know we have our daughter's wedding in a little over two weeks, and our other daughter and our daughter in love are both having babies in a month or two! You can imagine the busy-ness all these wonderful events entail. Truly they are such a blessing.
I just needed to regroup today. For me that means making a card, and posting!

Lucky you!
I'm sharing this card I made recently to add to my stash.

I intended only to do some coloring with my Derwent INKtense pencils to better my skills. You know that I love coloring but I still don't have a favorite medium. I've been debating adding a new product.  Polychromos Colored Pencils. I know what your'e thinking.  I said the same thing to myself. Admonishing that I must first decide if I really LIKE coloring with pencils and second, to make sure a new choice of pencils that I 'think' will be better actually WILL.

That's the story behind me pulling the Inktense out and using what I have. I learned this time that I get a much better result if I color softly in a circular motion and then wash over it with a paintbrush that is barely wet. Also, adding water to the darkest part and moving the brush to the lighter part of an image helped. It's important to clean your brush in between images, otherwise, you will just spread the dark ink and that defies the idea of shading totally.

I appreciate you sticking with me through this long post! Thanks so much for visiting. If you have any comments on your favorite pencils, I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Laurie's Fabulous Favorites

Hello!
Surprised to see me post two days in a row? Well, I am surprised too.
I'm inspired again by Laurie's Fabulous Favorites Challenge at PTI for this week. Stand alone dies? Count me in! I just got a brand new one in my order that arrived today and couldn't wait to use it.

I paired the new die and sentiments set up with the beautiful Orchid Expressions set that I worked with yesterday.

Now I'm delighted to have two anniversary cards ready for my stash. I don't often work ahead on Anniversary cards or send them often. But I love the choice of sentiments in the Huge Sentiments stamp set. I will get lots of use out of that as well as the Huge Banner Die and the Huge Congrats die.I love that this die is actually two dies so that you get a larger layer to use behind your word for extra depth.

My colors are Soft Stone card stock, and Hibiscus Burst, Raspberry Fizz, Amethyst Allure, and New Leaf inks for the blossoms. You know I'm not much of a gray person, but I love the way the colors pop against this pale neutral gray.

Thanks so much for visiting today!

Win It Wednesday with Laurie

Hello, I'm wishing you a happy day before Tuesday flies by!
Sorry my regular posting has fallen by the wayside. Today I was happy to spend some time stamping so I could play along with Laurie's second challenge for Papertrey Ink called Laurie's Fabulous Favorites. For this week we are to choose our favorite card stock color.

I made my card with a monochromatic color scheme of Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores and Simply Chartreuse, on a card base of Vintage Cream. I was so inspired when Michelle used these colors for her darling baby card HERE that I couldn't wait to use them.

My photo isn't the best, we're having dreary weather today!
Most supplies are listed below. Thank you so much for visiting!
