The Color Hues Challenge #81 Lilac and Mint

Hello, crafty friends, it's time for a new Color Hues Challenge! Dear Stef has chosen Lilac and Mint for our hues so if you're ready for spring, they are the perfect combo!

There's something I'm ready for every morning and its my cup or two of tea to start off the day. To begin my process for this card, I started with the patterned papers I knew that I had in these shades from my Waffle Flower paper pack. The  teacup die was in my not-yet-used stack, so it all came together.

I loved keeping it simple and letting the papers and dies do the work. It was fun rummaging in my stash for elements to personalize each teacup.

Please be sure to check out the DT samples, they are fabulous! We feel sure you'll want to play along this time! I hope to see your creation in the gallery.

Altenew Whimsy Motif for the Flower Challenge

Hello, and welcome to my blog again! Today I'm reminding you there's still time to play at The Flower Challenge where we encourage you to add a heart to your project. The samples in the gallery are inspiring! I never knew there were so many creative ways to add hearts!

I'm continuing to enjoy 3D embossing and ink sponging so I pulled out the Whimsy Motif folder from Altenew.

After embossing the bouquet and adding colors to the panel, I cut it apart and added a mat behind the design. I really like the way you can see the pattern continue on the main card panel. I added a small postage square, a die cut heart, and three metallic pearls.

There are still two weeks left of this challenge, here's a cheer! Come join us!

I so appreciate your visit today and I love seeing your comments.

Altenew Bold Bouquet for The Flower Challenge

Happy greetings to you on this new day. It's time for me to get to crafting and posting a bit more often as The Flower Challenge returns to inspire you! After our January break, we are in full swing with love month, asking you to add a heart (or two or three!) to your card. And of course, don't forget to feature flowers! My card is a stencil design using the Bold Bouquet 3D embossing folder from Altenew.

When I saw THIS card by Carol - it's the second card - I was smitten and my card is  unashamedly a CASE of her beautiful work. I began by sponging Distress inks onto watercolor card stock for an ombre background in pink and deep red. Next I dry embossed the panel using the 3D folder, and lightly sanded some of the high points to add distressing.

Using the coordinating stencils, I sponged in darker shades of red to some of the flowers. With a damp brush, I added deeper shading using Memento Toffee Crunch ink and a bit of gold metallic paint. I embossed the sentiment (Bold Bouquet stamps and dies) in gold, and embellished with three small hearts.

I appreciate you for sticking with me through this long post. I know you'll love the DT's beautiful inspiration. Please join us and play along!

Thanks for visiting me today.

New month, New Challenge! Postal Collage

I couldn't be happier about the hues of Red and Pink that our talented teamie Sheri picked for us at Color Hues #80! It's the perfect pairing for me to premier these new-to-me Postal Collage products from Waffle Flower Crafts! I really got creative with this one!

I began by die cutting the entire postal image. With the first stencil, I sponged Spun Sugar as a light background in each square. I continued for each stamp to add details and shading with inks in Candied Apple, Worn Lipstick and Barn Red.

I mixed and matched the stencils I used on this card to create my own theme. This was incredibly fun!

Last, I stamped the airmail theme images in black. I even got a stray bit of ink, but decided it was just the way some of my mail looks when it arrives, so I can "pretend" it got there on purpose.  Adding the sentiment on the black strip (from Hero Arts) seemed to tie this together as a focal point and a place for the eye to settle in this happy jumble of colors!

I'm sure you will want to join us and play along with this challenge, so give it a go. Can't wait to see what you create.

Waggingly Happy Color Hues #79

Hello friends, how are you faring in this winter cold? It's a sunny day here with a lovely Carolina blue sky, but brrrr! It is colder than usual! I can't complain as I know many of you are experiencing brutal cold temps and more snow than I can imagine!

It's time to cuddle up in your craft room? or with a loved one? or a furry friend? And time for our challenge at Color Hues, to use Copper and Green.

I chose this Waggingly Happy stamp from Penny Back.

I stamped on Mixed Media card stock, in black ink.  Using Copics in green (G12, G14) and rust (YR27, E21) I did my best to represent the hues of the challenge. I masked the  cute canine and sponged a circle in Bundled Sage distress ink.  The Parsley card stock and three enamel dots complete the card. As you'll see from the fabulous DT samples, there are many ways to interpret these colors. I can't wait to see what you will make!

Thanks for your encouraging support here on my blog and at Color Hues. Hope your years is off to a great start.

Cup of Kindness for Color Hues

The well-known song says, "we'll take a cup of kindness yet.... for Auld Lang Syne" As I am typing my first post of the year, I will wish you special gifts of health and happiness for 2024.  Welcome to our first duo at Color Hues!  Marcia has chosen Light Blue and Navy for us.

I couldn't wait to use the new stamps and dies from Concord & 9th called Cup of Kindness that features the cutest shapes and sentiments for coffee cups.

I love the floral mini patterns that can be printed on the cups. Neutrals are also OK to add to your projects including kraft, gray, cream, white or black.

My favorite sentiment is the Thank You checklist. Here's how it looks on the inside of my card. I grabbed a stenciled background from my already-done file that was a good fit with the colors and theme.

Please be sure to check out the fabulous designs from the team.

We hope you're ready to get crafting again! Please join us to play along. The challenge will last for two weeks. Thanks so very much for your visits and kind words.

Sending Merry Christmas Wishes

Hello! Here we are one week before Christmas, are you ready? It's time to remind you of The Flower Challenge #87 where we are still making cards that use gold. I've been wrapping Christmas gifts, and that theme carried over on today's card.

An embossed white panel serves as the package wrapped in gold ribbon and adorned with a red poinsettia. I added shading with darker red ink to the blooms (Waffle Flower.)  The foliage is cut from SSS Velvet card stock which I love for it's softness. You just want to touch it!
Our challenge continues through this month. I hope you will pay a visit to our blog and join in with your own creations. If you are celebrating Christmas, may it bring you much joy!
