Sending Merry Christmas Wishes

Hello! Here we are one week before Christmas, are you ready? It's time to remind you of The Flower Challenge #87 where we are still making cards that use gold. I've been wrapping Christmas gifts, and that theme carried over on today's card.

An embossed white panel serves as the package wrapped in gold ribbon and adorned with a red poinsettia. I added shading with darker red ink to the blooms (Waffle Flower.)  The foliage is cut from SSS Velvet card stock which I love for it's softness. You just want to touch it!
Our challenge continues through this month. I hope you will pay a visit to our blog and join in with your own creations. If you are celebrating Christmas, may it bring you much joy!

Joyful Poinsettia Christmas

The calendar tells me there's only a week until Thanksgiving, and Christmas is just around the corner! At Color Hues we are inviting you to bring out red and metallic gold to make your cards over the next two weeks. Christmas or not, these colors are elegant and full of possibilities!

I am making every effort to dig into supplies from my stash and bring them out for inking! The Joyful Poinsettia stamp (W Plus9) makes a beautiful background. I stamped it in Versamark ink onto Real Red card stock, and heat embossed it with glittery gold embossing powder.
The sentiment is in gold foil and I adorned it with  three red gems.

Sparkle and elegance are my favorites for Christmas cards and this one has both. It's much more glittery IRL!

Can't wait to see what you will make with these colors. Please join us!

JOY at Christmas for the Color Hues

Hello crafting friends, it turns out that I'm again shocked to turn the calendar and realize that it's the last month of the year. Already! Can you believe it? December 1! Our weather is expected to be at freezing or below all day. Our hearts and prayers go out to you those who had tornadoes yesterday!

You CAN believe that there's another great challenge for us at Color Hues! Nancy has chosen the combo of Navy and Cream for challenge #54 and you have until Dec. 28 to join in!

I thought these elegant shades were perfect for me to pair with lovely supplies from The Greetery. I used various blue Oxide inks to sponge the pieces of the die cut rose and added gold embossing and accents. Few embellishments were needed with the intricate background and bold floral. I added one blue gem to the center of the sentiment.

Please check out the wonderful creations from my friends, I know you'll be inspired to play along.

It's my first time to feature the Elegant Arches set, so I'm entering this at NBUS and the Sisterhood of Crafters who ask for anything Christmas or Winter, and Peace on Earth Christmas Challenge

One Stamp, Three Ways: The Greetery Print Shop Daisy Days

Welcome back for day 2 with Print Shop Daisy Days! Clean and elegant is the style for today, with colors of pinks, aqua and gold.

This time I used the die cut image. After stenciling I snipped the image apart to use on a white card base. In keeping with the gold foiled sentiment, I added a few flat gold sequins.

I think this crisp and clean look is my favorite way to use the set so far. I may try one of these days just using a part of the stencil on a very simple one layer card.

Hope you are having a great day! One more for tomorrow, I pulled out all the stops on this one! See you then!

Clean and Simple Blooms for Paper Players #583

How can it be that challenge #583 for The Paper Players is here? This wonderful group has been inspiring us week after week for a very long time! I am having so much fun as one of their Guest Designers this year.

Our challenge comes from Laurie this week, to make a Clean and Simple design with the theme of Blooms. Now you know, I have TONS of floral images, right?

I chose Spring Flowers and More Spring Flowers (SSS) from my stash. So enjoying playing with this older set again, I actually made up three cards and you will surely see them in future posts . I just love the stitching on these images.

I embossed them in white ink onto white card stock. After blending Distress inks to supply color in layers I snipped and die cut the images. Keeping the card simple I used inlaid stitching rectangle dies for the background (Lawnfawn). I think pearls make the perfect simple embellishments.

Can't wait to see the team's inspiration and your wonderful projects in our gallery. Have a fabulous day, friends.

Color Hues #29 Orange and Brown

Good morning! It's a new day for a challenge from Color Hues and you won't believe the gorgeous inspiration our team has for you this month. We're using brown and orange, perfect hues whichever way this takes you - fall, leaves, critters, thanksgiving, florals - lots of options!

Here is what I came up with. Remember, kraft can be used as a neutral. I began with bold pops of color using stitched frames (PTI).

The leaf dies from Stampin' Up! Colorful Seasons created the orange leaves and gold foil outline for the focal point. I wrapped the kraft panel with a bit of twine after stamping the sentiment and embossing it in white.

Can't wait to see your creations! Hope you will play along.

Inspired By: Flower Me In Christmas

Hello crafty friends, happy Thursday!

I have one more card for you this week. It's time for the new theme at  Inspired By.... Flower Me In Christmas.

I was excited to be able to use the Christmas option for this challenge! In between travels and other events happening lately, I was able to just die cut and stamp some bits and bobs of images. I absolutely LOVE having some of these ready to go so that I can take my time arranging the elements and adding other details to a card.

Today's card uses many of the gorgeous images in WPlus9 Designs Poinsettia Builder and Bells and Bows collection.

There is a disadvantage to having elements made up ahead of time - I can't remember whether I used Distress or Altenew inks.

I used the Lavinia dies to emboss the card front. I love how this really adds a rich and elegant look without distracting from the focal point. Wrapping a nest of gold thread, I layered the die cuts with foam squares stacked singly or doubly to add dimension. The die cut sentiment is gold embossed, with a second phrase stamped in black ink. Both are from the Poinsettia Bouquets set.

Inspired By...Flower Me In Summer,

or Flower Me In Christmas, which will you chose?

I know you'll be inspired by the team's samples, so be sure to check them out! I am so happy you popped in to see me today. I thank you all so much for the warm and heartfelt comments on my recent posts, they encouraged me greatly.

The Color Hues #3

Welcome to the Color Hues Challenge #3! I've been loving the Color Hues Color Challenge and especially the inspiration I get from all of you! We are so grateful for the fabulous entries since we've begun, and your enthusiasm in playing along! For our third challenge, we'd like you to use Gold and Cream. You will be aware comparing my photos that this color combo is hard to photograph well.

This photo shows the details best and the second one portrays the colors better.

I had the Floral Fantasy set by Papertrey Ink in my mind as soon as I saw these colors. They speak elegant holiday to me, and I added the texture behind the buck using the Evergreen Embossing Folder from Stampin' Up!

Gold embossing, gold mirror card stock and gold flat sequins dress it up. Remember taffeta ribbon? Thankfully I still have a bit. This did just call for a sweet bow.

Can't wait to see what you make for this challenge! Check out the blog and be inspired by the team's sample too! I am so thankful for your visit to my blog today.

Glory to the Newborn King

Hello there! With all my talk of loving summer themes, I bet you wondered when I'd break out the Christmas stamps. I just had to make my first Christmas card of the season today.

I couldn't wait to use the Rosy Cosy Christmas DSP that just arrived in my mailbox. I just love the gorgeous patterns and colors of this double-sided paper pad.  It seemed a perfect fit for the sketch by Jen B at Freshly Made Sketches. She suggested that we could keep it simple or dress it up. I opted to use gold embossing and elements to add some sparkle! I snipped the small holly leaves directly from the paper to embellish and used foam behind the DSP panel for increased dimension.

The inside is also completed, so this one is ready to go!

I will also post in Darnell's NBUS Challenge.

Thanks for coming by today!

Make It A Beautiful Day

How did it get to be Monday again? Hello, friends hope you're having a beautiful day. I think our warm weather is finally here to day and hopefully spring will hang around for awhile before it gets too hot.

I do love roses, and pulled out my Zig Clean Color markers last night to color for fun using the gorgeous Sketchbook Roses stamps from The Greetery. These are layering stamps and I look forward to the loose flowing watercolor look achieved by stamping the colors.

I was thrilled with the vibrant colors of the markers. After coloring I added white gel pen accents. I complemented that element by tapping spatters of white gouache onto the gray textured DSP used behind the bouquet.

Sentiments are all from the same stamp set. I had to make myself STOP before adding a few black dots or even sequins. The die cut florals are exquisite on their own! The Halfsies die cut was used to create the pretty frame.

Did you notice? No challenges today. I may roll this way for a few days.

I know time is hard to come by in our busy lives. Thank you for spending time to see my project today!
