Wonderful Day

Here I am, checking in on a Monday to see how you've been! My traveling is over for now and my health has leveled out again, so in this lull between activities I've got a card to share!

Many have shared gorgeous cards with the Spellbinders Wonderful Tulips Glimmer Plates and Layered Stencils and I have been waiting to use these new-to-me supplies!

I used Copper foil as it shows up nicely and then added color with WPlus 9 inks and sponge daubers. Using yellow because of wanting to play along at Double D's Color Challenge, and because yellow tulips and yellow roses are my favorites!

Also new-to-me is the Plaid Collection Embossing folder (Spellbinders). I like the texture it adds and I don't think the classic style detracts from the focal image.

We're approaching the HOT summer season and I'll be spending more afternoons in stamping activities. I've made some changes to my crafting regimen which I'll be sharing in the days to come. Meantime, I hope your day is wonderful and that you are enjoying the ordinary simple moments! I'm happy to be able to post today and so happy for your visit!

Color Hues #66 Yellow and Green

Hi there friends!
It's that time again! Mid month means a new challenge at Color Hues #66 where Karen is choosing yellow and green for us to create with. What a great combo! I colored and fussy cut the florals, banner and sentiments from Simply Stated by Honeybee.

The kraft background was deeply embossed and then I gently slid the white craft stamp pad over it and blended for a softening effect.

How will you use these shades? Please be sure to check out our amazing DT samples HERE, and join us to play along!
I'm glad to be home from some traveling and back in the craft room! Thanks so much for your visit!

Hope it's a Spectacular Birthday! Color Hues #65

Hi there everyone! I have cards needed for some summer birthdays that are right around the corner. Here to the rescue is an inspiring new challenge. For Color Hues #65,  Jules has a colorful combo of Red and Aqua for us! I love these colors, wait until you see the amazing designs by the team in the gallery!

I used supplies from the Greetery for today's card. One stencil and one stamp set. Distress Oxide inks. That's all.

I kept this clean and simple for a summer birthday.

Can't wait to see what lovelies you bring to our gallery!

My Favorite Flavor

Popsicles, anyone?  I'm pulling out my Chill Summer stamps and dies from Spellbinders for the first time, and they are providing me with many fun options and COOL sentiments too!  YOU'RE MY FAVORITE FLAVOR makes me smile!

I began with  adding beautiful patterns by embossing white card stock with the Geometric Stripes folder, also from Spellbinders.

I decided to create a chocolate bar with speckled ice cream dripping out. I used random dies from my stash to cut the drip and confetti, and brushed Crystal Effects on for shine. Can you tell how much fun I was having? First time using my new card stock from Concord & 9th's new color collection.  Love.

LeAnne's lovely sketch at The Paper Players inspired my layout. Hope you have a yummy day. One of the other sentiments in this set is "It's a good day to be happy!" Hope this is true for you, my friends. Thanks for visiting!

Reflections of Nature

Hello everyone! Having a few rainy days in a row was restful and I got some stamp time in over the long weekend.

I finally inked up a few stamps that've been in my "new things" pile for way too long. The Greetery Reflections layering stamps and die create pretty trees bordering a lake. Very much like the natural surroundings where I live.

I sponged a sky for the background using Salvaged Patina and Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide inks. Other inks were used with sponge daubers for the trees, trunks, sand and lake images.

I really look forward to changing the colors and making different combos for the sky with this set. It's so easy to use!

This is a slimline card, made on purpose so that I could play along with Tic Tac Toe, using the top horizontal line: slimline, trees, green.

It's great playing with challenges because I find myself reaching for that never-been used-stuff, so I'll add this also to NBUS

Thanks so much for joining me today, I will be back tomorrow!

Songbirds Make my Heart Sing

Hey there, friends! It's nearly the end of the week, and soon will be the end of the month, and I've been mostly MIA. I'm here today to fix that!
I've pulled out a new-to-me stamp set, and was inspired to join a card challenge I've just discovered called Triple B: Birds, Blooms, and Butterflies! Use one or all three in your cards.
I spent a few tries with mediums to color the bird, but liked this one best using Copic markers and made it into a card.

What I love about this Songbird stamp set (Concord & 9th) is that the bird on the tree branch is a separate stamp, and there are images to add to the branches for each season of the year. I used the flowers and buds for a spring scene. Deciding it needed some texture, I added the border of stitching, and a bit of color randomly dotted with a stencil. A few flat sequins and two butterfly die cuts complete the card.
Thanks so much for joining me today and taking a peek at this creation! It's been nice sharing a bit of time together, let's do it again soon!

VROOM! VROOM!

Hello, how's it going for you today?  I'm driving by with a new post and a card for you at Color Hues #64. Julie B chose a delightful combo of Orange and Slate Gray for us to feature. It had me stumped for awhile, but I remembered this fun auto stamp in time to make a card for our son's birthday.

I used a mix of papers from my stash, and the stamps and dies from Honey Bee stamps - Car Show and You're a Classic.
The DT team has a wonderful line up of projects for you. Hope you will check it out for inspiration and  join us!
