View Through the Window

Hello and welcome back! I set out to make a card today for two challenges, and I have just realized that the sketch challenge at Freshly Made is about to close! So this will be a quickly dashed off post! Hope you don't mind.

Here's the sketch that I used from Freshly Made and the challenge at The Paper Players was Clean and Simple asking for foliage. I loved using the Through the Window Dies (SSS)  and La La Land In the City papers for these cards. The Leafy Layers dies are from C9.

Here's another card that I made. It feels really good making cards with supplies that I really fell in love with.

The other part of my time crunch? I'm off to Swing Dance class with my dear man who is dazzling on the dance floor or off. I hope to edit a bit more of the details for you later. See ya later!

Be yourself

         Have delight in your craft

               Make something beautiful!

Additional thoughts: The top card uses a color combo of Nectar and Sunflower card stock. I've seen these hues trending together and had to give it a try. The pop of black is what seems to make it work for me. The second card base is the palest pink, Ballet Slipper. On this card, there is acetate over the scene to make the window, and the corner edge is popped open slightly.

I adore those papers, Cindy, and am pleased as punch to see them here on your cards! You found a wonderful way to feature them with your window dies - something I need to remember when I play with the ones I have!
So happy you've played with FMS again this week, my friend! I am SO jealous of those dance classes - and that your man is into it!

Oooh, I love these colors you've used with the papers and window dies. I have and love both. The papers are divine. I'm not a city girl, but I do think the scenes are lovely. You've added just the right touch of something extra with the leaves on one and the flowering branch on the other. Swing dance sounds like a blast!

Thanks, ladies, swing dance is fun! We also do an hour of line dance each week. Let me tell you that is a cardio workout! It's easy choosing several activities and getting to them as we live in a single home in a beautiful over 55 community.

What a fun and creative use of the sketch! I love both of your windows and the scenes beyond them. Thank you for playing along with us at Freshly Made Sketches.

Swing dancing does sound like so much fun--and great exercise! I'd never be able to talk my husband into it, though. I have those beautiful papers, and your two lovely cards are inspiration to move them right to the desk. Both of your cards are wonderful! I love the way you interpreted the sketch.
