Spring is in the Air The Paper Players #581

Hello. and welcome to another great theme challenge at The Paper Players! Yes, spring is in the air here, and flowers are blooming everywhere! This week the daffodils popped out, the forsythia and cherry trees are in full bloom. Next to come will be the azaleas and dogwoods that are so plentiful in my state.

I'm inspired by the bluebirds that we see in our yard, they will soon be nesting!

My card features that very spring scene.

I'm using stamps from Honeybee called Love is in the Air.  The images were colored with Copics and fussy cut. I often don't mind fussy cutting, this time I outlined each image with black marker to hide any white paper bits peeking out.

The bird house was intended to look old and worn, like the one we have. I'm pleased with how it turned out.

Will you chose the tulips, butterflies, or cherry blossoms? I can't wait to see what you will make. I'm so glad that you came by to visit today, hope it made you smile!

Leaf Border Birthday

 Hello dear friends!

We've turned a page of the calendar but so much is going on. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are caught up in the struggles for world peace and the Ukranian people.  On this first day of March we have a new challenge going at Color Hues!

Our original challenge is to use Green and Gold on your card. My card was made a couple weeks ago, and I'm sharing that with you today. Additionally, in honor of those in Ukraine, we are offering a second challenge to use the colors of bright blue and yellow that reflect the Ukranian battle for freedom and give them a message of encouragement.

My card is clean and simple, and uses my favorite technique of late - foiling! I used the Autumn Leaf Border from Spellbinders and the Essential Glimmer Sentiments to create a masculine birthday card. I think the gold foil dresses up a classic style.

I'm finding that using Neenah Solar White 110 # card stock gives me great results with the foiling. It is sturdy so I was able to color the leaves with Zigs and a blender pen.

I will keep this short as I need to get busy getting this card ready to mail. I hope that you are doing well at keeping on.

Be sure to check out the team's creations and be inspired. And please join us in our special challenge for Ukraine! I will be adding my card later.

With Love The Paper Players #580

I'm glad it is Sunday, time for a a sketch Challenge at The Paper Players! I play all kinds of card challenges, but I admit I prefer a sketch and I've been looking forward to creating with the lovely one that Anne Marie has designed for us.

After choosing the oval die I wanted to use, imagine my delight in finding this gorgeous image already colored in my ready-to-go stash!

The flowers and timepiece are all one image, and I colored them with Copics, then die cut them. The aded layers and tiny black speckles bring a vintage feel that I love. Amazingly there are vintage vibes drawn into the outline that make it easy from the first stamping.

Dawn's latest sets at WPlu9, the florals are from Flora & Fauna 4. The sentiment, embossed with Liquid Platinum, comes from Flora & Fauna 3. Both sets have coordinating dies and through Feb 28 her spring 20% off sale is going on!

The pretty papers are Summer Stems from Honeybee stamps. Yes, they are new to me, so I will enter this over at NBUS to Darnell's sweet challenge!

I hope you will take the time to check out the inspiration from our talented team and join us in creating! I love seeing your cards in the gallery!

WILD about Wildlife Paper Players #579

A happy welcome to my blog, it's Sunday! Ann has a fabulous new challenge for us at The Paper Players!

Clean and simple is always fun! Not always simple though, I think it takes me longer to figure out exactly which elements to use with this style.  I loved pulling out this super cute giraffe, and coloring him with Copic markers and a white gel pen.

Believe it or not, deciding on the jungle leaves - took me three tries to find the ones that looked right! I added tiny splatters in black to tie in with the sentiment.

When it was all done I took a chance and added a hand drawn frame with my black pen. A simple touch. An imperfection. It's OK with me, that's why making handmade is special!

Can't wait to see what you will make, bring some wild into your life and join us! Thanks for your visit today, hope you have a great week.

Just a Note for Color Hues #35

Hello friends! Valentine's Day has come and gone, but we are still in the mood for pink at Color Hues! Kristie has chosen pink and navy to inspire our projects for challenge #35, and it's a great combo!

I finished sending out Valentines but really wanted to use the supplies from The Greetery that were sitting out on my desk, so I went for it. A CAS note card that is mailer-friendly coming up!

I love these softly curving flowers that have a bit of detail from layered stamping. My inks from PTI include kraft for the envelope and a lighter shade of navy, more like blueberry, that coordinates well with the polka dotted paper strip.

The envelope is a popped up layer, as is the embossed sentiment tag. Supply details are provided below for those who want to know.

What will you make with our colors? Can't wait to see, hope you will join us!

Thinking of You for Paper Players #578

Hello, it's Sunday! LeAnne has a new challenge for us at The Paper Players and you'll love the springy hues she chose. We've had some warmer days, and I feel happy getting out my floral stamps.

I tried a new to me technique today, after watching Jennifer's fabulous video HERE, showing how to use stencils for inking a background, also adding pressure to deboss the design. I just had to try it!

Here's a close look at the slightly raised texture of the leaves background.

Using  white card stock I sponged pale ink onto the stencil, then ran it through my Die cut machine for the stencil ink press result.

I know you will enjoy the beautiful combo, I can't wait to see what you make!

Please check out the team inspiration and join us. Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope have a great week!

New Home Congrats

Happy Saturday! I have had a couple days with time to play in my craft room just for fun, so here's another weekend post. Seeing Kim's sketch I just had to play along at Freshly Made and see what I could come up with.

The sketch is very simple and I tried to keep my card clean! Another scene created for a congratulations on your new home card.

It was fun doing some ink blending for the sky and Copic coloring. I masked in order to combine two homes into one larger one. The square is popped up onto a white panel.

I used stamps from WPlus9, I will list them below. You may not know that I was a Stampin' Up! only gal for over ten years, then branched out and bought my first non-SU set from Wplus9.  Honestly, if I'd have to limit myself to only one group of stamps again, it would be these. I love Dawn's style and the versatility of her stamp sets and designs.

The stamps are NEW so you will find me linking to Darnell's lovely NBUS challenge #35 and Freshly Made Sketches

I will be back tomorrow! It means so much to me that you visit my blog again and again and leave such kind comments.
