It always takes me some trial and error and rummaging through my stash to come up with an idea to make new supplies my own. That's what happened today when I went to try out the stencils included in Kristina Werner's Weather Together Bundle. It has been on my desk for a couple of weeks now.
Wanting a card for general encouragement, I searched for the sentiment first. Among my Penny Black stamps, I came upon just what I wanted in the Love Big stamps. I wanted my sky to suggest a sunrise.
I used Distress Oxide inks to color the scene, using only 2 of the cloud stencils, and inking lightly. Another sentiment carries the sunshine theme to the card inside.
I have to be honest and say that I had doubts about the usefulness of the Weathered Together stamp set at first. I'm happy that I now have a few ideas and a few more sentiments lined up to be able to create with it. I got help also from The Paper Players Challenge this week!
I may have to get going on anther entry! Also entering the Stencil Fun Challenge. and the Penny Black Saturday Challenge.
Thanks for stopping by to visit. FInishing this card and getting it posted has given me a nice sense of being productive this morning. Have a great day!

Stunning card, Cindi! I love how you colored those clouds each a different shade of blue/green. The sentiment stands out so well. And I really love that gold frame that you have on the card too. That’s such a clever idea. Beautiful job all around! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Word Art Wednesday. We appreciate your participation!
This is fabulous, Cindy! I love your framing and the colors you chose are just beautiful! I've made very few cards with these products but I'm quite sure they'll get lots of use eventually. I need to do what you did and look for more sentiments that will go with the stencils and dies. Thanks for the inspiration!
It appears you figured out the most perfect use for these stencils, Cindy! What beautiful colors you chose for your sky, and the sentiments are ideal with it. I love the narrow gold frame, too! I feel more really lovely cards will come from this set and I'll look forward to seeing them!
Beautiful card, Cindy. I love the soft effect of the stencils and the bright colours you've used. You tamed them down but they kept their joy. I especially like the way you've carried on the image beyond the centre frame. Thank you for joining in with my CAS weather theme at The Paper Players.
LOVE your card, Cindy!! This is such a fun and creative card. A very special card filled with encouragement. Great work! xx
