Hello, it's Color Hues #97

Hello, I'm so glad that you've made a visit to my blog today. It's time for a new duo at Color Hues, and Julie P has chosen mustard and olive for us.

I was inspired to pull out the Fragrant Florals supplies from Altenew, this time featuring the embossing folder and stencils. I just love these shades, I used mostly distress inks to sponge lightly on the leaves and flowers. I did keep adding layers to try to be more mustard-y. Wish the photo did them justice!

I love the hello sentiment, it's so easy to continue on the inside with a more specific greeting.

Hello's and goodbye's are very much on my mind these days. On a personal note, my husband and I are in the process of moving to a small home near our daughter's family. I've had to significantly pare down my overflowing craft collections(s)! You know, it's NOT just stamps paper and ink anymore but includes, dies, foils, stencils and ALL the stuff. So, instead of a craft room, I will have a craft closet.

I  may or may not be posting much after the dust settles - but I will see you again for one more challenge at Color Hues. You know you don't need an invitation to play - just make a card using these colors plus a neutral.

I look forward to hearing from you and seeing your creations!

Be yourself

          Have delight in your craft

               Make something beautiful!

  2. Simply jaw dropping, Cindy! These embossed flowers make me swoon, and the warm and wonderful colors are extra lovely with it. You know I've always enjoyed visiting here and hope we can keep in touch. My craft room is small, but I can't imagine not having it to retreat to. That said, it never hurts to pare down the supplies. How much can a person use, anyway? Sending hugs.

  3. That embossing folder is stunning, and so is your card! The photo looks pretty great to me. I'm hoping your craft closet will still inspire you to create--we will miss you here, but I'll be following along whenever you find time to post.

I'm loving these embossing folder/stencil combinations so much these days...so fun to see the color and depth emerge together! 6. Gorgeous floral card, Cindy! You really made the flowers and leaves come to life with the different tones. I too love using hello as a greeting. As far as downsizing your stash, that has to be a job in itself and so hard. Good luck with everything, I know you have a lot on your plate.

  7. Your pretty bouquet looks perfectly mustardy to me Stef, so no worries there! Good luck with your move and you're able to cram as much stuff into your cubby as possible. My friend is contemplating a move abroad and has warned me to make room for her stash, she knows me too well!!

  8. It's funny Cindy, but I hadn't used this set for a long time, but then pulled it out for my TFC card and wondered why it's been collecting dust. I LOVE your version in mustard and olive, it is absolutely stunning.

All the best on the move and paring down the crafty supplies, it is not a walk in the park, for sure. I'll miss seeing your DT cards but hopefully you'll join us once in a while, when time permits. Take care!

  9. I noticed you didn't seem to upset about paring household goods...just crafty stuff. I LOVE IT!!! Best of luck in the move. We may be doing something similar a few years from now. --- The dimension on your card is awesome and your blending of the hues is perfection.

  10. Cindy, your flowers are absolutely lovely, especially with this combination and your seamless blending.
I don't envy you paring down your crafting supplies; so hard to make decisions about what to de-stash and what to keep. Hope you'll continue to craft after your move and maybe, just maybe, the closet will eventually become a bigger space.
    hugs~carol
